Finnish academic libraries

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to outline the situation of the university libraries in Finland. In the first part, there is some basic information about Finnish republic and its history or the structure of Finnish education system. It describes the organization and law of Finnish librarianship and general aspects of the university libraries. Second part is focused on selected academic libraries. The collections and services of six university libraries (University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä, University of Lapland, University of Oulu, University of Tampere and University of Turku) together with The National Library of Finland are depicted.
