Integration of children of foreigners in kindergarten environment in Prague.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of integration of foreign children living in the Czech Republic, specifically in Prague. The focus is mainly on children whose mother tongue is different from Czech. In the theoretical part, the thesis describes the specifics of the pedagogical approach within the issue, it mentions the current possibilities and legislation setting for the education of children with special educational needs. It acquaints readers with key concepts of the topic, discusses the position of multicultural education in the preschool curriculum, the role of possible racial prejudice and their prevention, intercultural communication and problems associated with child adaptation. It will briefly mention the statistics of the Czech and Prague demographic structure and its development in recent years. The practical part examines the theoretical readiness of teachers to work with preschool children who come from different socio-cultural environments and also face language barriers. It notes the specific needs of foreign children in the integration process into kindergarten. The survey made by qualitative research method by means of interviews with teachers determines the situation in the given area at selected kindergartens in Prague. In the final discussion, there is brief methodological support for teachers, including recommendations from "good" practice, which lead to successful integration of children with different mother tongue into the Czech classroom.
Teachers of Czech Language as a Foreign Language for Pre-School Children

The M. A. thesis concerns with teaching Czech as foreign language for pre-school children. The main aim of thesis is current situation of teaching Czech as foreign language for pre- school children with respect to teachers who perform this teaching, primarily to the qualifications of teachers, the approaches and the methods which they choose and the teaching materials which they use. The first part of thesis deals firstly with significance of teaching Czech as foreign language for pre-school children then with education teachers of Czech as foreign language for pre- school children and finally with pre-school children as target group of teaching foreign language and Czech as foreign language. In the chapter about methodology we describe chosen qualitative methods of research and course of the research. The empirical part of thesis is divided into three parts, in the first one are presented the research data from the semi-structured interviews in Prague and the results of qualitative analysis of materials which are used by teachers. In the second part are described the research data from semi-structured interviews from Czech School without Borders in. The next part deals with comparison of these data. Development of language competencies of children with different mother language in preschool

The diploma thesis deals with the development of language competencies by children with different mother language in preschool age in a regular kindergarten. The theoretical part of the work is focused on defining the basic terminology and mapping the issues of a child with a different mother language in kindergarten based on the analysis of professional literature. The subject of the empirical part of the work is the diagnosis of individual language levels and individual preparation for entering primary school for a specific child with a different mother language. The empirical part is processed in the form of case studies. The survey was conducted in a selected kindergarten, where the level of language competences of seven children-foreigners of preschool age was evaluated and the results of tests after six months were subsequently compared. The aim of the diploma thesis was to analyze the level of language competencies in children with different mother language, identify their communication difficulties in individual language levels, find suitable methods and procedures for working with these children and evaluate the benefits of regular individual intervention. The Qualitative Research of Communicative Strategies Used by Preschool Teachers Working with Children of Foreigners

The Bachelors thesis focuses on researching the communicative strategies used by preschool teachers working with children of foreigners. The theoretical part introduces the term preschool child,cognitive development, development of speech and commmunication skills. It follows a child-foreigner from the perspective of intercultural psychology and intercultural communication. The methodological part defines the concept of the qualitative research and the grounded theory. It specifies the qualitative methods of research investigation.The practical part identifies and summarizes communicative strategies of preschool teachers by using the methods of observation and interview.
