The adverse life conditions of single mothers in the Czech Republic and their possible solutions from the perspective of social work

This assessment deals with very discussed topic in the field of social work, women, who raise their children themselves. The term single parent is explained in the introduction part of the assessment followed by terms family functions, incomplete families and their breakdown. This is followed by intorudction of economic impacts, poverty feminisation and women rights. Then the assessment addresses the support of women. The goal of this assessment was to introduce life of single mothers and to find out which economic aspects have an impact on their life standards based on expert resources, literature and conducted survey. To complete the goal, a qualitative survey was used based on half-structured interviews. The results of the survey are examined in the following discusion, then repeated in general at the final stage of the assessment which is supposed show the importance of single parenting in our society and the difficulties single mothers have to face. These difficulties are the hardship of finding an employment, a life balance between work and parenting and caring for children, shortage of pre-school and childcare services, and stigmatisation in the society. This assessment is also dedicated to everyone, who wants to gain a deeper insight in to the single parenting topic and how single mothers live and cope.
Crime of Evasion of Alimony Payments under s. 196 of the Criminal Code

The presented Advanced Master's thesis describes one of the most frequently committed criminal offences in the Czech Republic, specifically the criminal offence of neglecting the duty to maintain and support pursuant to Section 196 of the Criminal Code and, in general, the issue of parents' failure to comply with the duty to maintain and support their children; this thesis aims to provide a comprehensive description of this topic. The thesis is divided into seven chapters supplemented by an introduction and a conclusion. Chapter one focuses on the historical roots of this criminal offence, as the punishability of non-compliance with the duty to maintain and support has a long tradition in this country. Subsequently, chapter two outlines the basic characteristics of this criminal offence and provides a detailed analysis of the individual elements of two basic merits under Section 196 (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code, as well as of the qualified merits with respect to these two basic merits. The volunteer programs that support child in adoption or foster care

The aim of the thesis Volunteer programs that support child in adoption or foster care is to monitor the offer of volunteer programs for children in adoption foster care in the Czech Republic and to show possibilities of support which volunteer program could bring to children, including demonstrations of experience from similar programs abroad. The theoretical part of thesis describes the foster care system with respect to the child's needs and ways of support that are available to them in both professional and volunteer sphere. Emphasis is placed on the role of people who accompany a child on his way from the biological family to foster families, including important relationships and ties, which child lose during his way. It will also explain the idea and values of volunteering as unpaid voluntary work, including the typology of programs focusing on children and the ways volunteers can help to improve their situation. Practically oriented empirical part shows the concrete experiences of the actors from the volunteer program supporting children in foster care by the interviews. The bachelor thesis deals with the child support, and in particular the child support parents to children. The theoretical part describes some of the basic concepts, discusses the social function of maintenance, describes the impact of divorce on children, lists the types of maintenance on the creation, modification, termination and child support of parents to children and further defines the scope of child support. Subsequently, the paper deals with the recovery of maintenance and performance penalty. The practical part is finding reasons non-maintenance, non maintenance impact to the beneficiaries, how they differ or agree the views of professionals and how they may be specialist beneficial in preventing the offense of neglecting child support.
