TEJMLOVÁ, Vanesa
This bachelor thesis examines the impact of the covid-19 epidemic on family work from the perspective of a social worker. The primary aim was to investigate how the covid-19 epidemic has affected social worker's work with families. To achieve this aim, 3 research questions were formulated. The bachelor thesis is structured into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on topics such as social work with the family, family dynamics, crisis intervention within the family and the specifics of social work with the family in times of epidemic. In the practical part, qualitative research was used, including the method of interviewing and data analysis. The research technique used was semi-structured interview. The research sample included five respondents who work in the field of services for families with children and provide social activation services. The informants were contacted by e-mail. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed using an open coding method that led to the identification of ten categories with corresponding codes. Research findings suggest that the epidemic of covid has had a significant impact on work with families, with new challenges emerging, both related to the work environment and new working conditions. The importance of mental health support for both clients and social workers was also identified. The next theme discussed the new risks and challenges that the covid-19 epidemic brought and also the most serious negatives that workers felt. The contribution of this work can serve as a basis for the development of a methodology in similar crisis situations. Its results can provide useful insights into changes in working practices, strategies and challenges faced by workers in crisis situation.
