Methods for reduction of parachute systems opening shock
Zamazal, Jakub ; Daniel, Miloš (referee) ; Pejchar, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis deals with opening shock of the parachute rescue systems and summarizes the methods of its reduction. The beginning of thesis is about theoretical introduction into general problems of parachutes. Another part contains problems about opening shock including specifications for rescue systems. There is also mentioned some suitable measuring methods. Next is summary of using methods for reduction of opening shock. The end of thesis contains proposal suitable methods for reduction shock for aircraft with take-off weight of 450kg.
Shopping centre entrance area
Čech, Ondřej ; Sýkora, Karel (referee) ; Brosch, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis describes the design and assessment of roof structure that covers entrance of the shopping center. Structure has an irregular floor plan and roof height is 16.5 m. The material of the structure is steel S355. The construction is located in Hradec Kralove. Two options were processed that were designed and evaluated according to applicable standards. The work also includes the design of anchoring and selected joints.
Distributed ballistic recovery system design for GA and commuter aircraft
Šima, Dávid ; Jebáček, Ivo (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
The master's thesis is focused on the design of a ballistic system for a commuter aircraft and can serve as a feasibility study. At the beginning, the significance of the ballistic recovery system is demonstrated through a statistical overview. This is followed by a section that examines the ballistic system itself in terms of its construction, activation, and various associated rules. This is followed by a section on the characteristics and geometry of the parachute, which is essential for the design itself. The most crucial part of the thesis is the procedure for calculating the filling time and dynamic loads. Among the various possible methods, the most suitable calculation methods were verified and selected based on a specific case. Using these validated calculations, the loads on several possible parachutes were subsequently determined. The final part involves verifying the placement concept, for which the wing load at half-span was determined and compared with the dynamic load value of the proposed parachutes.
Potravní preference mravenců v lesním podrostu a korunách stromů v temperátních lesích
LENC, Jan
This study examines food preferences of ants in canopy and understory using tuna/sugar bait method in temperate forests. The abundance was measured to clarify foraging activity and food preferences in the Czech republic and Japan.
GPS telemetry and activity measurement focused on even-toed ungulates (Artiodactyla)
Peterka, Tomáš ; Bartoš, Luděk (advisor) ; Komárková, Martina (referee)
GPS telemetry is a recently expanding method for research on most animal species. It provides automatical scanning of position and related data on large distances and often on large temporal scale. The research studies has changed dramatically during the development of this method. Experiments using this technology deal with scanning of incidence, management and species conservation, activity pattern of controlled animals, estimation of behavior in various scales and so on. Activity sensors which are often included to GPS collars serve for determination of behavior of monitored species. In this thesis there are summarized basics of VHF and GPS technology. In available articles of great terrestrial mammals like even-toed ungulates (Artiodactyla) and marginally also bears (Ursidae) we show possible application of GPS technology for activity measurement, methods, restrictions and results of experiments. At the end we introduce experimental approach for activity measurement of red deer (Cervus elaphus) and results of the pilot study.
Mechanisms structuring arboreal ant communities along ecological gradients in New Guinea rainforests
PLOWMAN, Nichola Sarah
The thesis explores the community ecology and diversity of tropical ants, with a strong focus on the arboreal ants of Papua New Guinea rainforests. The aim was to investigate the drivers of community structure in these diverse communities, and how these change along the ecological gradients of elevation and forest succession. Using unique datasets from censuses of whole forest plots at low, mid and high elevation forests, the effects of vegetation structure and nest microhabitat use on ant community structure and diversity are compared across elevations. Furthermore, a community study of an understorey ant-plant mutualism was undertaken to explore elevational changes in interaction networks and the costs and benefits of mutualistic interaction. For lowland primary and secondary forest, taxonomic, functional and phylogenetic diversity of arboreal ant communities were quantified. In addition, aspects of the methodology of community functional diversity studies are examined, and suggested improvements to data handling in cases where full datasets are not available are discussed.

Analysis of microclimate of the stands with different management.
ŠACHL, Jiří
Proposed bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the microclimate creation in the vegetation cover. The main focus was put on monitoring of temperature and humidity regime, and solar energy fluxes due to Bowen ratio. Several microclimatic parameters was monitored in four different biotopes with different microclimate regime (red clover, winter wheat, potato and grassland), during the growing season and relied to the different agricultural management.
