Possibilities to use the Canistherapy and its influence on children in pre-school and school age

This bachelor thesis focuses on the impact of canistherapy on physically handicapped individuals. The first part of the bachelor thesis deals with a brief definition of the term of ´zootherapy´, further it focuses on the definition of canistherapy, its history, its present, and methods. It also defines individual disabilities in children and it deals with a suitable choice of an assistance dog for the effect of canistherapy. The second part includes a qualitative research which, with the help of interviews with canistherapists, gained information on the process of canistherapy for pre-school and school children.
Accesibility of Canine therapy in Southbohemian Region

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the availability of canistherapy in the South Bohemian Region and compare canis therapy services according to predetermined criteria. The theoretical part explains the concept of canistherapy and presents the development of canistherapy in the world and in the Czech Republic. It describes the various methods and forms of canistherapy. It introduces the preparation for the practice of canistherapy, which begins with a suitably selected dog, its training and ends with passing the canis therapy exam of the entire canistherapy team. The conclusion of the theoretical part points to the use of canistherapy in special pedagogy for pupils with visual, auditory, mental, physical, combined disabilities, for pupils with epilepsy, autism and ADHD. The aim of the practical part is to introduce individual canis therapy organizations and free canis therapists. At the end, the individual canis therapy facilities are recorded and compared in a table according to the criteria. Questionnaire and interview methods are used to achieve the goal. The result of the bachelor thesis is a comprehensive overview of available canis therapy services in the South Bohemian Region.
Selected Technigues in Canine therapy of Children with disability

Canistherapy is one of the rehabilitation methods. It serves for support of psychosocial health of people of all ages, using relationship between a dog and a man. This work is dealing with canistherapy techniques for children with disabilities. The aim of my thesis is to find out which techniques are the most used in the centre Bazalka, o. p. s. and the devide Hafík, z. s. and how the canistherapy is affecting health of children with disabilities. The theoretical part is devoted to history of canistherapy, to canistherapy techniques for children with disabilities. Further in the work there is a characterisation of development of a healthy child and a child with disability, from 3 to 7 years old. The practical part consists of a quantitative research, which was carried out in form of an interview between parents of the children with disabilities and their therapists. The research is evaluating the children's health after going through canistherapy techniques and monitoring how often the volunteer were visiting the institution.

The purpose of this diploma work is to introduce zootherapy and therapy dog and to determine the possibilities of employing therapy dogs in education of children in elementary and special schools. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the description of zootherapy, its forms and methods. It also deals with preparation and exams for therapists. Lastly there is a section on therapy dogs, their personality and preparation for this field of work. You can also find some information on how to choose the best puppy using the puppy aptitude test. The practical part of this thesis deals with the employment of animal assisted therapy at normal and speial schools. The results had been achieved through interviews that I had made with therapists who use dogs at schools and also through obseration during those classes.
