The influence of news service on the public opinion: The case study broadcast 168 hours

The thesis deals with a concept of public opinion in connection with the influece of media. It follows the genre of news service, as a key part of media that are within the reach of social and political actio in the future. The first part presents the teoretical basics of news service and its components. The important definition of the candour criteria and also the normative requirements of news service in democratic regimes that form the media in the role of democracy keeper and define the other function for the sociaty as well, are to be found in the first section of the thesis. The analytical part concentraces on the case of broadcast 168 hours that represents an overview of a the week's course of events. The analysis emplasizes the work towards emotional influence on the viewer and finds coherence between the influence of the broadcast and the viewer's social and political awareness. The goal of the thesis is to discuss the consequences of such a specific kind of news broadcast as the 168 hours on the public opinion and the connection with the viewers and their future social and political life that can be represented and seen also throughout the election.
