APPLICATION OF NONLINEAR EDITING METHODS IN TELEVISION NEWSCAST
Bančanský, Andrej ; Lokšík, Martin (advisor) ; Šmíd, Milan (referee)
This work studies the influence that non-linear editing of visual materials and usage of digital news production system have on the final form of news programmes. I also compare these advanced technologies with the older linear editing and analog playout, illustrate it by describing the principles of both methods and explain it on a hypothetical example. Two chapters are devoted to the integration of digital archives and graphics tools. The examined period used for comparison of new and old technologies is the week from 2 to 8 April in 2010 and the same week a decade earlier. The news programme examined is Udalosti on Czech television. The aim is to point out how the technical possibilities can change the workflow and form of newscast, not just in theory but also practically.
THEATER VS. ADOLESCENT
Kranich, Dan ; BEČKA, Marek (advisor) ; KLÍMA, Miloslav (referee)
In my Master thesis I deal with the issue of creating a production for adolescents. I am discussing this topic in connection with two theatrical performances: Goon: Krvavá pomsta and Jsou místa oblíbená tmou, kde nikdy a nic na ostrovech se skrývá odlehlých. I describe in detail the implementation of these projects. I compare my creative work in the school environment with staging in a professional theater. The thesis also deals with the relationship of contemporary adolescents to the theater as well as the relationship of theaters with adolescents. My theses and ideas are based on the practical experience gained by presenting these two projects.

Work on collaborative authorial performance
Van Wagenenová, Kateřina ; MUSILOVÁ, Martina (advisor) ; POTUŽÁKOVÁ, Markéta (referee)
This thesis follows the genesis of three authorial performances, that I and my partners created in collaboration during my study at the Department of authorial creativity and pedagogy DAMU. From the perspective of my own experience I am trying to monitor the specifics of such cooperation, the issues of rehearsing and performing with a fixed script and without a fixed script but with a list of points/a score instead. I am describing the influence of impulses and reflections from pedagogues given to us during our quest and I am also mentioning the working methods and exercises used when discovering the performance and my reflections of rehearsals. DVD of the three performances and two examples of point scripts is attached. One of which of a performance described in this thesis, the other of a solo authorial/devising work is attached for comparison.
