Computational Tool for Gas Flow Modeling through the Piston Assembly
Vitteková, Zuzana ; Dlugoš, Jozef (referee) ; Raffai, Peter (advisor)
The main topic of this bachelor’s thesis is to create a graphical users interface (GUI) in Matlab, facilitating the entry of input parameters for the calculation of the gas flow through the piston assembly and its evaluation. The first part is dedicated to the theory of piston rings followed by an introduction into the gas flow problematics. The second part concerns the procedure of creating the aforementioned GUI.
Crankcase Ventilation of the Internal Combustion Engine
Zavadil, Martin ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This thesis has been written out as a literature review. This work is focused on crankcase ventilation systems of internal combustion engines. The aim was to describe the origin of bow-by in different parts of engine, the principle of operation of individual components and a description of design solution for different types of engines. The work also describes the differences between crankcase ventilation systems of motorcycles and trucks. The last chapter is a description of used design solution of crankcase ventilation system for the selected engine VW 2.0TDI. In conclusion the work outlines possible developments in the field. The work also includes image attachments approaching the issue and design solutions.
Study of the Gas Blow-by through the Turbocharger Sealing System
Požár, Vladimír ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Vacula, Jiří (advisor)
The work focuses on the investigation of gas flow within the sealing system of a turbocharger, specifically in the compressor section. The sealing „piston” ring located here is the main subject of the study, primarily examining the influence of the ring's geometry and its positioning in the shaft groove on gas leakage into the bearing housing. Furthermore, the behavior of this flow under various boundary conditions is assessed by testing different flow types.
