Bigorexia as addiction: Risk factors in development causing Muscle dysmorphia

Risk factors in development causing Bigorexia. The subject of this study are the risk factors in human development, that may be causing Bigorexia. The study contains theoretical part, which describes Bigorexia as an eating disorder with addictive elements in behaviour. Theoretical part also contains characterization of compulsive exercising, steroid abuse and theories of bigorexia development - cognitive, psychodynamic, biological, cognitive- behavioral and behavioral theory. In this part are also described risk factors for Bigorexia development and process of medical treatment. Next part is practical, containing four case histories of men with Bigorexia. The respondents are asked for their own understanding of Bigorexia. The case histories are searched for common characteristics in development, which may contribute to Bigorexia. The characteristics are individually analyzed and the risk factors are evaluated. And the results are overconcern of their body appearance, continuation in exercise over the presence of injury or illness, anxiety caused by default of training program, preoccupation by exercise, neglect of duty, demanding of higher achievements and the mood changing. The bachelor thesis is focused on the topic Difference in lifestyle change in men and women aged 40-50 years. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts typical for this issue focusing on history, development and newer trends, not just an active lifestyle. Further on the issue of eating disorders, such as bigorexia, bulimia, orthorexia. The practical part is focused on the input data of the examined subjects. This thesis summarizes the multifactorial causes of eating disorders in the context of current socio-cultural determinants, with a special focus on children and adolescents. The theoretical background for this thesis, as specified in the introduction, is a general overview of the possible causes, occurrence, course, prognosis, and diagnostic criteria of eating disorders, with an emphasis on younger school age and adolescent age. The central topic of my Bachelor's thesis is a questionnaire-based survey of the knowledge, recognition abilities, interventions, general attitudes towards the issue, and the implementation of primary prevention of eating disorders among members of the teaching staff in the sixth to ninth grades of normal elementary schools. The secondary objective of the thesis is to provide statistical data for the last five years due to the increase in the number and hospitalization rate of paediatric and adolescent patients with eating disorders at the Clinic of Paediatric Psychiatry and the incidence of these disorders in combination with a dual diagnosis. The comparative method and a questionnaire were used in this thesis.
How childhood toys and idols effect muscle dysmorphia in adulthood

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the influence of toys and idols during childhood to muscle dysmorphia in adults. The theoretical part presents general information about eating disorders and then it focuses on muscle dysmorphia and its aspects. The author than mentions drugs related to sport. Last chapters of the theoretical part are focused on body image and self-concept. In the empirical part, the author uses a questionnaire to find out if exposure to an above average muscular toys and idols can effect perception of ideal man's body in adults. The research group consisted of 461 respondents, all males. Research shows that respondents who were exposed to an above average muscular toys and idols achieve higher scores in questionnaire that deals with muscle dysmorphia, showing that they have different opinion on ideal male body than man who were not exposed.

University of South Bohemia students' awareness about eating disorders

The thesis focuses on knowledge of eating disorders by students of University of South Bohemia. The theoretical part defines particular types of eating disorders and the causes related with this problems. There are possible treatment methods for eating disorders mentioned at the end of this part. The practical part deals with students? awareness of eating disorders. It focuses on students? knowledge of eating disorders and orthorexia nerovosa. The research is based on questionnaire construction. The students of selected faculties of University of South Bohemia were the respondents. The results of the research were statistically processed.
Processing art sculptures relative to the issue of eating disorders

This thesis deals with the problems of eating disorders. Objective of the thesis is definition of eating disorder, a description of the individual faults an as a practical part there is an artistic creation of specific disorders. Theoretical part includes characteristics, division and insight into history. There are described four forms of eating disorders: anorexia, bulimia, obesity and bigorexia. In the practical part is the visual processing of transformation of two excessive eating disorders- anorexia and bigorexia. It is treated as a sculpture ceramic including drawing.

The thesis deals with risk factors for eating disorders. The theoretical part describes the various disorders and thein symptoms and consequences. Further theoretical part analyzes of the emergence of these disorders and thein gradual historical development, which during its existence passed. Another part of the risk factors for eating disorders and possible wals of thein treatment. The practical part is focused on research of modeling as one of the risk factors for eating disorders. This section is based on information obtained through personál interview conducted with respondents from the field of modeling and acting outsider the scope. The resulting data are recorded by means of case studies, tables and graphs.
