Linocut in Art Education (Contemporary Printmaking)
Havlíková, Margita ; Raudenský, Martin (advisor) ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Linocut in art education (contemporary printmaking) consists of three parts. In the theoretical part, I discuss the characteristics of graphics, with a special focus on a linocut. I describe in detail the history of linocut in Czechia and the world and, subsequently, its place in contemporary authors' work. Additionally, I have clarified the concept of the terms "game" and "bestiary", that I use in the didactic and practical part. The goal of my work is to highlight the linocut and its technique as a convenient tool for art education classes. In the didactic part, I designed a series of lessons whose central theme is an imaginary animal. In the beginning, the students are motivated by the "Imaginary animal" game. Subsequently, they create a drawing proposal and then use it during the linocut creation itself. The bachelor's thesis is concluded by my own author's creation, which is based on the already mentioned game "Imaginary animal".
Mythical creatures in art. Author's illustrated bestiary.
PROŠKOVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor's thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part of my theoretical framework is concentrated on specific mythical animals and describes their visual aspects and characteristics. The myths with these animals are also mentioned in this section. The next part pursues the portrayal of the mythical creatures through the history where along with them are also mentioned authors who have been trying to put these creatures into their work. It is very interesting to see how each of them visualised these animals in their own way. The end of this theoretical section of the work is aimed at developing of the literature where are these mythical creatures mentioned or directly portrayed. A practical framework for this work concentrates on making the author's own bestiary where the sketch of each mythical character is also included.

Explore pictures of supernatural beings and other creatures which could be found in current visualizations of Fantasy genres, computer games, illustrations and films. Study and categorize visual and written materials, follow these fantastic creatures, how they look like and how the appearance of them changes through time. Track the source of the appearance by comparing modern sources and older pictures and also by studying old myths and legends. Research what inspiration how impacted the process of creating new concepts. Study and define terms such as imagination and fantasy. Through scientific research, try to map how the children imagine fantastic creatures and from what pictures and text their images come from. What do children find scary? What ways and techniques stimulate their imagination? Plan and realize an art project following up your findings. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
