Legal regulation of the activities of banks
Jedlička, Jan ; Kotáb, Petr (advisor) ; Kohajda, Michael (referee)
The subject matter of this thesis is a treatise on legal regulation of bank activities. I have chosen this topic for its recency in a connection with global financial crisis and also in a connection with application of new European legislation in the field of bank regulation. Activities of banks belong among one of the most regulated market areas because eventual failures of banks are very dangerous not only for a functioning of the bank system but also for a huge amount of other subjects dependent on proper financial factoring. An importance of bank regulation is also given by a large amount of depositors who have their money deposited with the bank and who can lose their funds in the case of a failure of the bank unless the institutes of the financial safety net will provide compensation. Regulatory rules impact on banks already in the phase of their origin. There are strict conditions for an obtaining of the bank license from a reason of a prevention of an entry of unhealthy business subjects to bank market to avoid problems prior to their creation. An exit from bank market is also regulated in the form of a different legal regulation of insolvency and liquidation of the bank. The thesis is divided into eleven chapters which are divided into several subsequent subchapters. The thesis starts with...

Vplyv regulačných opatrení bankového sektoru na úverovú aktivitu komerčných bánk
Turzák, Matej
The diploma thesis deals with impact of regulatory measures on bank credit activity. Banking regulatory frameworks Basel II and III are approximated via selected capital requirements. The empirical analysis is based on a panel regression analysis with fixed effects. The sample consists of 4313 European banks. Determinants of supply are selected indicators of bank characteristics. Factors of demand are taken into account via macroeconomic fundamentals. The impact of monetary policy is examined through a three-month interbank interest rate. The results of the empirical analysis point to the importance of regulatory measures in relation to credit activity. Subsequently, the robustness analysis deals with the closer impact depending on the size of the bank and the operating market.

Gabrhelová, Daniela ; Teplý, Petr (advisor) ; Hejdová, Martina (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on influence of the banking system regulation. The thesis is aimed at capital requirements and evaluates if it is appropriate to make the regulation stronger, and creates the legal structure which enables European and national supervision authorities to react faster to potential changes in capital adequacy and a bigger exposition in relation to risks. This bachelor thesis confirms the stable development of Czech financial sector as well as sufficient bank capital resources. In this respect it is not necessary to increase the capital requirements across the board. Despite the current trend of regulatory and supervisory centralization it is recommended to entrust some of these activities and powers with competent national supervisory authorities. These authorities could possibly better address the specifics of their respective national financial systems.
