Analysis of water-soluble fraction of metals in atmospheric aerosols using a semi-continuous system
Mikuška, Pavel ; Vojtěšek, Martin ; Večeřa, Zbyněk ; Křůmal, Kamil
Description of semi-continuous system for on-line detection of water-soluble fraction of metalls in atmospheric aerosols with time resolution of 30 min. Fe3+, Co2+, Cu2+ were selected as model metals.
Analysis of Elemental and Organic Carbon Eerosols: Crossroad vs. Suburban Area
Vodička, Petr ; Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Smolík, Jiří
Contribution present measurements of elemental and organic carbon aerosols during three measuring campaigns in periods 12.-15.5.09, 24.-27.8.09 and 6.-9.10.09. Measurements were performed in parallel at the crossroad Kamýcká-Suchdolská (outskirt part of Prague) and the Institute ICPF areal (urban background station). Measurements were carried out on on-line devices, in the two-hour intervals, with temperature program Eusaar2 on PM2.5 size fractions. The measurement results show that the field on-line device for measuring ECOC are suitable for monitoring of emissions from transport. Two-hour time resolution it allows to monitor the traffic intensity fluctuations caused by air pollution.
Study of atmospheric aerosol in Brno and Šlapanice
Mikuška, Pavel ; Vojtěšek, Martin ; Křůmal, Kamil ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
Contribution deals with comparison of chemical composition of atmospheric aerosols (size fraction PM1) and identification of emission sources of aerosols in large (Brno) and small city (Šlapanice).
Concentration of elements in atmospheric aerosol and street dust in Brno and in Ostrava
Vojtěšek, Martin ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Ličbinský, R. ; Adamec, V. ; Křůmal, Kamil
Contribution deals with measurement of atmospheric aerosols (size fractions PM2.5 and PM10) in Brno and Ostrava and with comparison of concentration of elements in aerosol and street dust in Brno and Ostrava; effect of different potential sources is discussed.
Dynamika velikostního rozdělení částic atmosférických aerosolů v Praze - Suchdole
Matějková, Daniela ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Smolík, Jiří
This work summarizes first results of a one-year-long continuous sampling by SMPS and APS spectrometers at the suburban backgrounds site in Prague-Suchdol. The average particle number concentration was found to be 6500 particles/cm3. The size distributions were mostly monomodal with the mode located either in the Aitken (21-100 nm) ot the accumulation range. The dynamic of particle size distributions and especially situations when we found elevated concentrations of particles smaller than 25 nm were studied. New particle formation belonging to the category Banana event was identified most frequently. The average values of J3, were estimated to be 1.8 cm3s-1 and GR 6.6 nm h-1.
Selected Results of the Continuous Measurement of Atmospheric Aerosols in Prague – Suchdol
Matějková, Daniela ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Smolík, Jiří ; Šilhavý, J.
Continuous measurement of atmospheric aerosols leads to information about dynamics of particle size distribution with high time and size resolution. It is possible estimate of new particle formation mechanisms and to specify dependencies with the meteorology and other parameters. Long-term measurements provide many data, which has to be organized and evaluated. Due to the semi-automatic tools are develop.
Study of Atmospheric Aerosol Mass Size Distribution at Prague Suburb
Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Smolík, Jiří ; Hovorka, J.
Size distribution of atmospheric aerosols at Prague suburb Suchdol was studied using Berner low pressure impactor. Four 2-4 weeks measurement campaign were done resulting in 68 measured 23 hour size distributions. The results showed the influence of wind velocity and direction, relative humidity and temperature on aerosol mass size distribution.
Atmospheric Aerosol Composition Measured on Crete
Smolík, Jiří ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Havránek, Vladimír ; Eleftheriadis, K. ; Lazaridis, M. ; Mihalopoulos, N.
A Berner low pressure impactor was used to collect size-segregated aerosol samples at Finokalia station located on the north-eastern coast of Crete Island, Greece during July 2000 and January 2001. Several samples were also collected during the summer campaign aboard of research vessel 'AEGAIEO' in the Aegean Sea.
Robustní odhad rozdělení velikostí částic atmosférických aerosolů pomocí gnostické teorie
Wagner, Zdeněk ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Smolík, Jiří
A new approach using gnostic theory of uncertain data is applied to analysis of particle size distribution in atmospheric aerosols. The properties of the gnostic kernel, derived from theory, is demonstrated. Enhancement of gnostic theory, which allows robust kernel estimation of the distribution function as well as the bounds of the data support, is explained.
