Automated Web Analysis and Archivation

This thesis is focused on cybercrime, acquisition of evidence and development of a platform for retrieval, analysis and archiving web site data. The goal is to satisfy the investigators and security experts of the Czech police. The aim is to provide an open source platform that will be freely disseminable and in compliance with the requirements of legal institutions. The output of the thesis is two platform versions - full-fledged, fulfilling all the requirements set out in the diploma thesis and a light version for the police investigators of the Czech Republic.
Methodology for creating, storing and making available technical and administrative metadata from a web archive

Metodika předkládá postup (pravidla) pro strukturu metadatového záznamu a popis technických a administrativních metadat z webového archivu. Nastiňuje teoretický rámec problematiky tvorby metadat webových archivů, popisuje granularitu záznamu a jednotlivá metadatová pole s hodnotami, kterých mohou nabývat, a jejich možnou formou zápisu. Vychází především z metadatové specifikace pro webové archivy mezinárodního konsorcia International Internet Preservation Consortium. Metodika byla vyvinuta pro potřeby Českého webového archivu NK ČR (Webarchiv). Je navržena tak, aby mohla sloužit dalším archivům webového obsahu. Jejím účelem je popis technických a administrativních metadat, která se vztahují k jednotlivým sklizním včetně kontejnerového formátu WARC. V souvislosti s touto metodikou byl vyvinut nástroj - software Grainery, který lze použít pro generování, extrakci, evidenci a zobrazení metadat podle postupů stanovených v metodice.

Comparative Analysis of WebArchiv of the National Library of the Czech Republic and Foreign Projects

(in English) The topic of the diploma thesis is to compare the WebArchiv with selected foreign Web Archives, which are responsible for preserving the national cultural heritage. The introduction briefly explains the history of Web Archives and typology of harvesting. Next parts deal with the history, legal aspects of archiving, selected types of harvesting, Web resources, systems, accessing and evaluation the Czech (WebArchiv), Australian (Pandora) and British archive (United Kingdom Web Archive). The text continues with an evaluation of the selected archives that mentions strong and weak properties and possible solutions. In conclusion, outlines the problematic aspects of archiving, which must be addressed in the future. [Author's abstract]
