Investigation of calibration factor stability for GC-FID analysis of alcoholic products quality by internal standard methods
Čermáková, Veronika ; Čabala, Radomír (advisor) ; Coufal, Pavel (referee)
This thesis focuses on measuring calibration factors and the dependence of their stability on experimental conditions for the purpose of quality control and the safety of alcoholic beverages using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC-FID). Ten volatile compounds (acetaldehyde, methanol, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, isobutanol, acetal, 3-methyl-1-butanol) were monitored according to the legal regulations of the European Commission. These target compounds were analysed in prepared solutions under 27 different measurement conditions. Taguchi's multifactorial statistical method was used to determine the influence of individual measurement parameters on the stability of calibration factors. The chosen variables for measurements were matrix composition, concentration of volatile compounds, GC injector temperature, sample injection volume, injection split ratio, and detector temperature. Within the experiments, each of these variable factors took one of three possible values. Relative response factors (RRF) for each analysed compound were compared using two internal standard (IS) methods. One method utilised commonly used 1-pentanol as the internal standard, while in the other, ethanol, the main component of all alcoholic beverages, was used as the...
Realistic Visualisation of Alcoholic Beverages Using Distributed Raytracing
Fabík, Jiří ; Maršík, Lukáš (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This work is about a realistic visualization technique called raytracing. It studies its original form, its extensions and optimizations. Raytracing casts rays through pixels and follows their propagation in the scene, according to the physical laws. It enables rendering of correct shadows, reflections and refractions. Distributed raytracing serves for better visualization and advanced effects. One ray is replaced with a beam of rays that allows soft shadows, fuzzy translucency, depth of field and antialiasing. With the increasing number of rays, the render time rises as well, so it is needed to use some optimization techniques and tools. A way of using this rendering method for visualization of alcoholic beverages is also described.
Obmedzovanie škodlivej spotreby v Európskej únii pomocou daňových nástrojov
Černáček, Kristián
The diploma thesis is focused on consumption taxes in the European Union, their changes and impacts on limiting harmful consumption. The author of the diploma thesis examines the level and change of consumption tax rates in EU countries, the development of average and median wages, prices of goods of harmful consumption and the costs caused by harmful consumption. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to find out whether it is possible to effectively reduce consumption by increasing tax rates. The secondary goal is to define the amount of consumption taxes in the EU, to find out prices and wages. In the Czech Repub-lic, find out the level of consumption, calculate the elasticity of demand and compare the results with the results of a questionnaire survey. Based on the findings, evaluate the effectiveness of the tax policy and propose measures.
Chování spotřebitelů na trhu s alkoholickými nápoji
Novák, Jan
The diploma thesis is focused on consumer behaviour on the market for al-coholic beverages in the Czech Republic. The goal is to identify the key factors that influence consumers to consume alcohol. Using secondary data, the market for alco-holic beverages was analyzed with a focus on average alcohol consumption and in-dividual types of alcoholic beverages. At the same time, a questionnaire survey of respondents was added, and the results of the work revealed differences in the rea-sons that lead to the consumption of alcoholic beverages, including the influence of cultural, family and economic factors. The actual work includes the segmentation of respondents using cluster analysis and their division into five clusters according to differences in consumption behaviour, at the same time it is supplemented with rec-ommendations aimed at reducing alcohol consumption in the Czech Republic.
Motivy spotřeby alkoholických nápojů u českých spotřebitelů
Černý, Tomáš
Černý, T. Motives of alcohol beverages consumption of Czech consumers. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2023. The diploma thesis deals with the motives of alcohol beverages consumption in the Czech Republic. The main objective is the identification of consumer behav-iour in connection with the alcohol beverages consumption. Using secondary data, the thesis evaluates the state of consumption in the world and in the Czech Repub-lic. The questionnaire survey and the testing of the dependence of qualitative characteristics were used to find out the motives of alcohol beverages consump-tion and for the consumer segmentation. Recommendations for the consumption reduction were based on the information found.
Vliv reklamních předmětů na chování spotřebitele při nákupu alkoholických nápojů v gastronomických zařízeních
Rivola, Filip
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out whether it is possible to force visitors of gastronomy businesses to buy chosen alcoholic beverages through advertising items. Monitoring, subsequent in-depth interviews and choice of preference of promotional items are used to gain the primary data. The marketing research took place in three businesses of different concepts, 45 participants were involved in the research. Based on the revealed information, recommendations are proposed to the alcoholic beverage producers and gastronomy business keepers. These recommendations lead to a better aiming and use of advertising items mainly in tourism because the large majority participating in the marketing research were tourists. In general, customers prefer unusual and original advertising items, preferably made from unusual material such as wood. This trend is mostly manifested with beer mats and promotional items which are part of the business interior and correspond with its concept through the design. The respondents have well reacted to the outdoor advertising which can be part of the very popular outside seating.
Quantification of main solution components by using fragments containing heavy nuclides of common elements
Horká, Blanka ; Čabala, Radomír (advisor) ; Bajer, Tomáš (referee)
Quantification of major components by gas chromatography with flame-ionization detector (GC-FID) is established in routine laboratory practice. The FID detector is considered as universal detector for gas chromatography (GC), but it does not provide a response for a wide range of compounds and GC-FID analysis provides only quantitative data. The coupling of gas chromatography with mass spectrometry is a powerful analytical tool that provides not only quantitative data but also qualitative data on the structure of substances. When quantified by GC-MS, the detector oversaturation is a problem as it is a highly sensitive detector (at ppb level). One way to avoid oversaturation of the detector is to significantly dilute the solutions, which causes a decrease in the sensitivity of the method. Another approach to bypass detector saturation is to interrupt detection during solvent elution. For quantification of the major components of solutions, only the first method of bypassing detector saturation can be applied, but it is a labor-intensive process that increases the measurement uncertainty. The interruption of detection during solvent elution is not applicable for the purpose of quantifying major components, so a new approach of quantifying major components of solutions using M+1 ions was proposed and...
Students and their relations to alcoholic beverages at FPES CU
Rudolfská, Dominika ; Majorová, Simona (advisor) ; Nováková, Pavlína (referee)
Title of the bachelor thesis: Students and their relations to alcoholic beverages at FPES CU Goals: The main goal of my thesis was to discover relations between students of FPES CU (Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University Prague) and alcoholic beverages. Secondary goal is to summarize and evaluate risks of consumption of alcoholic beverages based on professional literature on the theme of alcoholic beverages and its impact on the physical and mental state of an individual person. Methods: The raw data were collected by method of non-invasive online survey. In the research 120 of UK FTVS students were attended across specializations and years of studies, regardless of gender. Results: Based on an online survey, it was found that almost a half of respondents (49 %) have a positive relationship with alcoholic beverages and 47 % of them see their relationship as neutral. The most popular beverage is beer, mixed drinks and cocktails ended up as a second favourite with one third of responses. About a half of answerers claim they consume alcohol occasionally. Bigger third drinks at least once a week. Social events are the main reason for consumption of alcoholic beverages for 47 % of respondents. More than 90 % consume in a party or group, not alone. Keywords: Addiction, Alcoholic...
