CAT Tools in German - Czech Translation
Handšuhová, Jana ; Svoboda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Špirk, Jaroslav (referee)
Abstract This thesis handles special translation software, the mastery of which is becoming one of the basic requirements of successful translation work. The theoretical part describes the historical development, classification and main functions of translation memory systems. The thesis will further attempt to determine the criteria for the effective use of CAT tools and explore the text types and sorts for which the translation memory systems are most commonly used in the translation process. The functional view of the language-based text typology and the principles on which the translation memory systems work will also be handled. The practical part compares the result of a translation process (translation as a product) with and without CAT tools. The corpus of parallel texts (original translation) will be subjected to a translation analysis. This analysis concludes the levels which are affected by differences between translations made with and without CAT tools. The differences in the actual translation process with and without CAT tools which are not empirically verifiable will be analysed based on a survey conducted amongst translators. Then, the empirical part of the findings are summarized and systemized. The last chapter deals with the expected development in the translation market, the...

Proposal of shaft alignment method for small rotors using digital image correlation
Hrůza, Vlastimil ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Ščerba, Bořek (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with the design of a method for aligning small rotors, for which commonly available methods are not suitable. This is due to space restrictions around the coupling, which often do not allow installation of conventional alignment systems on the shafts. The proposed method therefore utilizes non-contact measurement of the surface of the shafts using digital image correlation (DIC). Calculation of misalignment and corrective moves is based on fitting the points measured on individual shafts with cylinders and evaluating the mutual position of their axes. To determine the area of applicability of the proposed method, sensitivity analysis was performed, which showed that the method gives good results for surface-accurate shafts with a uniformly applied speckle pattern for DIC measurement. Validation of the method was then carried out by measuring on a designed test rig using a commonly available laser alignment system. The validation measurement proved the functionality of the method and confirmed the conclusions of the sensitivity analysis.

Effect of the electron dose distribution on tilt series acquisition

Study of the intersection in the village of Javornice
Gregor, Jan ; Janda, Michal (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the modification of the intersection in the village of Javornice, located in the district of Rychnov nad Kněžnou. In total, three treatment variants are proposed at the same level of processing. The reason for the induced modification is the current opacity of the intersection. Another reason is to meet the requirements of the municipality for the construction of bus stops at the primary school Javornice, modification of the adjacent parking lot and protection of the slopes of a nearby stream against erosion.

Study of parking in Okružní Street in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem
Jelen, Jan ; Petr, Tomáš (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis addresses the use of space on the Okružní street in town of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem for the construction of new parking spaces using for example underground garages and also addresses the proposal for traffic calming down the entire length of the street. The reason for the modification is unsuitable condition of the existing street, where in many places a suitable area for parking and parking spaces is not built, also there are no elements for traffic calming. The bachelor's thesis aims to solve these shortcomings and also, look at the possible concept of solving the lack of parking spaces in densely populated areas.

Text to Audio Alignment
Šuba, Adam ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This bachelor thesis studies a tool for automatic text to audio alignment at the level of single phonemes and graphemes. It also discusses possible techniques used in alignment and possible limitations and difficulties that need to be taken into account. Studied tool uses approach based on grapheme-to-phoneme conversion using joint-sequence models. Data used in experiments are TV broadcast recordings from Multi-Genre Broadcast Challenge 2015.
