Smutná, Anežka ; Štěpánová, Martina (advisor) ; Hromadová, Jana (referee)
This thesis deals with aids for teaching Geometry at primary and secondary schools. The aim of the thesis is creating several visual aids for substantiation of statements or constructions. Specifically, there is a tool for explaining validity of the Pythagorean theorem, a tool for showing formation of conic sections as sections of circular cone, a tool for demonstrating the definition of an ellipse and its Gardener's construction and a tool for showing and simulating both stereometric relations and problems. A part of the thesis deals with the current curriculum of Geometry on Czech primary schools and selected types of secondary schools. Further, the thesis lists and describes some aids that are used in general public schools and in selected types of schools using alternative methods of teaching Mathematics (The Hejný method, Waldorf and Montessori schools). The thesis is also intended to be used by teachers for inspiration of developing their own tools or to orient themselves in the tools already produced.

Czech aid to developing countries: not only financial development cooperation
Janský, Petr ; Řehořová, Z.
The study describes the Czech Republic’s performance in terms of aid efforts to developing countries in comparison with other developed countries. For the first time, the authors apply a time-proven methodology of the Center for Global Development think tank in Washington called “Commitment to Development Index”. The Czech Republic ranks in 20th position out of 23 evaluated countries, so according to this index, we have a great potential for improvement. The study is firm and foremost showing that developed countries, such as the Czech Republic, can help through other means then simply financial development collaboration. Strategic decisions of governments and companies in areas such as international trade or migration often have a great impact on citizens of developing countries. The Index shows that compared to countries at the top – Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands – the Czech Republic is mostly behind in the area of development and safety collaboration; on the other hand, it excels in international trade and environmental issues. The Czech Republic’s results in investment, migration and technologies are slightly below average. Even in times of cuts in Czech public budgets there is a room for improvement in terms of aid to developing countries. It could often be much more acceptable for the Czech republic, and much more beneficial for developing countries, if we changed the status quo of our public policies, rather than simply increased financial aid to developing countries.
Informedness about lifestyle of patients with diagnosis Diabetes mellitus
BEČKOVÁ, Věra
This thesis aims to depict the contemporary situation in diabetes patients{\crq} awareness of healthy life style and to determine whether the information on healthy life style is reasonably accessible and comprehensible to patients or not and whether they abide by the rules. I set four assumptions for this thesis: 1. The diabetes mellitus patients feel that the information on healthy life style within the frame of their illness is sufficient and accessible. 2. One third of the informants feels that the information on healthy life style in terms of their disease is not accessible. 3. One third of the informants has difficulties with apprehension of the information on healthy life style in terms of their illness. 4. More than half of the informants abides by the information on healthy life style in terms of their illness. The selected group of informants consisted of diabetes mellitus patients. The data were extracted from anonymous questionnaire intended for the patients of two diabetology clinics in Znojmo regardless their age, sex or diabetes type. 150 questionnaires were distributed. The finite number of questionnaires used for data compilation after elimination of erroneously or incompletely filled items was 118. The results of the research revealed that most of the patients feel sufficiently informed and that the information on healthy life style is reasonably accessible. Nevertheless only 22,9% of informants abide by the information on healthy style, the rest of the informants is not able to manage all the rules they should be conformant with or cannot change their life styles in accordance with the advices of professionals. I would like to emphasize the importance of information on healthy life style in the frame of diabetes mellitus that can help the patients to prevent the unfavourable complications of this disease and therefore improve the quality of their lives. Nevertheless also the patient must feel the consciousness and need to abide the rules of healthy life style. That is why I consider the distributing information on healthy life style of diabetics very important and hope that my thesis will also serve this purpose.

The second part focuses on the Millennium Development Goals and the potential barriers in implementation of them. The last section is devoted to the involvement of Bono Vox in aid to Africa. It shows Bono's attitude to the aid and the evolution of his involvement in this issue considering the consequences of his engagement. Subsequently, it evaluates the benefits and examines the consistency of his involvement in this issue.
Availability of rehabilitation and compensation aids for persons with rheumatoid arthritis.
KUBALOVÁ, Zuzana
The bachelor degree thesis ?Availability of rehabilitation and compensation aids for persons with rheumatoid arthritis? has a research character. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with a comprehensive characterization of rheumatoid arthritis. Further, it presents methods of diagnostics and treatment of the disease. It also outlines issues relating to the needs of patients afflicted by the disease. It also includes a chapter dealing with compensation and rehabilitation aids that improve quality of life and integration of the patients into the society. The practical part deals with availability of compensation and rehabilitation aids on the current market, along with a financial participation of the patients. Three objectives have been set relating to the topic. The first objective was to map the offer of compensation and rehabilitation aids in connection with the demand on the side of persons suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. The second objective was to find out which compensation and rehabilitation aids have been used most frequently. The last objective was to investigate whether persons suffering from rheumatoid arthritis are willing to financially participate on purchase of the compensation aids. I am convinced that the set-up objectives of the bachelor degree thesis have been met. The method selected to deal with the issues and to achieve the mentioned objectives was quantitative research. We used inquiring by means of a questionnaire. The research has confirmed both the following hypotheses: Patients with rheumatoid arthritis most frequently use compensation aids for walking and The financial participation of rheumatoid arthritis patients on purchase of compensation aids depends on each patient´s working activity. Findings and results of the thesis may be beneficial for students of the following years in specializations dealing with rehabilitation and psycho-social care of children, adults and seniors with special needs. Moreover, the thesis may serve as an impulse for companies distributing compensation aids to take into account requirements of persons with rheumatoid arthritis.
