The construction system of the apartment building is wall-based: the basement is made of a combination of monolithic walls and columns, and a brick floor made of aerated concrete blocks. Horizontal structures consist of reinforced concrete monolithic slabs with unidirectional or bi-directional reinforcement. The perimeter walls are insulated with the ETICS contact insulation system. The aim of the master’s thesis is to design an energy-efficient hotel in Karviná. In the first part, an architectural and structural solution was proposed. The building has three above-ground storeys. The structural system was designed as structural frame with beams and slabs, made of reinforced concrete. The material of external wall is aerated concrete blocks insulated with the ETICS with poly. The roof is flat. There are 40 thermal collectors and 69 photovoltaics panels. On the first floor, there are four guest rooms, a restaurant, a kitchen, a reception, toilets, a utility room, a mechanical room, and facilities for employees. The guest rooms are located on the second and third floor. HVAC was designed in the second part. Heating is provided by two heat pumps. The first heat pump provides domestic hot water in the winter, heating with radiators, for air handling unit heaters and cooling in the summer. The second heat pump is used only for floor heating in the winter. In the building are designed four air handling units for the kitchen, the restaurant and two for the guest rooms. Rainwater from the roof is collected in accumulation tank for flushing the toilets. In the third part, I evaluated the calculation of energy performance certificate in two softwares, namely Energie 2021 and DEKSOFT. The aim to find out, why the results are different in these softwares. The Drawings were done in ArchiCAD. The calculation part was made in Excel.
Multipurpose Educational Centre
Drahokoupilová, Barbora ; Vystrčil, Jan (referee) ; Košíčková, Ivana (advisor)
The objective of my diploma thesis is to design multipurpose educational centre. The project consists of three parts. The aim of the first one is to create the architectural and structural design. The building is mainly centred around four common rooms accompanied by a simple kitchen and basic amenities. It is a two-storey building with a green roof. Its floor area is 327 m2. The vertical load-bearing structures are masonry, specifically made of aerated concrete blocks. The horizontal load-bearing structures are designed as cast-in-place reinforced concrete slabs. Envelope walls are insulated with mineral wool because of its elliptical floor plan. The foundation is cast-in-situ concrete slab. The second part focuses on a building services design. Domestic hot water and heating is provided by a gas boiler and electricity is partly supplied by a photovoltaic system. The building has mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. There is an underground tank for collecting rainwater that is used for watering the garden. The third part relates to facility management. It focuses on facility operations and core and non-core activities.
