Analysis and solution of transport in Námestovo
Dendisová, Terézia ; Radimský, Michal (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
The master's thesis focuses on the analysis and solution of selected modes of transportation in the town of Námestovo in the Žilina region. The thesis includes an analysis of transport modes, especially road transport, parking, cycling, and pedestrian transport, proposing their optimization to enhance safety, smoothness, or comfort for the town's residents. The first part describes the current state of road, static, cycling, railway, and public transportation. The second part focuses on road transport, evaluated in terms of traffic safety and compliance with legislative requirements, along with proposed solutions. It further addresses static traffic, where the town was divided into functional zones based on usage, identifying shortcomings in selected areas and proposing solutions. The final section of the thesis tackles pedestrian and cycling traffic, outlining shortcomings and potential solutions.
Design elements turbo-roundabouts
Smělý, Martin ; Bačová,, Katarína (referee) ; Kocourek,, Josef (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
Dissertation describes new methodology of design turbo-roundabouts in Czech Republic. Especially innovative is approach to the design of traffic lanes with regards to standard vehicles and widening of traffic lanes according to their dimensions. Innovative is also approach to road signs, where details of current signs are modified, however, these details are important for drivers’ better understanding while driving through turbo-roundabouts. Dissertation fills legislative, but also technical, blank spot during turbo-roundabouts design and I believe that it will benefit particularly designers of these intersections.
Analysis and solution of transport in Znojmo
Kovaříková, Ilona ; Radimský, Michal (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the traffic situation in the district town of Znojmo in the South Moravian Region. The thesis deals with individual traffic modes, especially road traffic and cycling, but also with static traffic (traffic at rest), where parking and optimization design is addressed. The thesis also marginally deals with rail and bus public transport. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the existing state of the individual modes of transport in the entire cadastral area of Znojmo, but since the cadastral area of Znojmo also includes transport in the extravilan, the thesis is mainly focused on transport in the intravilan. The traffic load according to the National Traffic Census of the Regional Directorate of Transport and the degree of motorization from the databases of the Road Vehicle Register of the Ministry of Transport are analysed. In the second part of the thesis, selected problem spots in Znojmo are addressed, and measures for improving the comfort and safety of road users are proposed. Furthermore, parking is addressed, where the city was divided into areas according to functional use and the shortcomings were found and then the optimal solution was proposed.
Intersection of 1.máj and Palacký in Moravské Budějovice
Soukup, Tomáš ; Radimský, Michal (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
This thesis deals with the solution of the crossroads of the 1st Máje and Palackého in Moravské Budějovice. Part of the work is security inspection, calculation of uncontrolled intersection capacity, traffic survey. The findings are applied to possible solutions of crossing of the 1st Máje and Palackého in Moravské Budějovice.
Solution of traffic problems in the town of Hranice
Hloušková, Milada ; Budík, Ondřej (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
The Diploma Thesis is focused on the analysis of a traffic situation in the territory of the town of Hranice. The work is based on information about the level of automativity, accident rate and own analysis and measurements. Based on the detected facts, 3 problem sites were indentified, which were subjected to a road safety inspection. Possible risks that could lead to a traffic accident were identified. For each risk, a measure have been proposed to improve road safety or to eliminate the risk completely.
Vehicle Safety Assist Systems and Their Assessment under Euro NCAP Directives
Szabó, Ákos ; Zubík, Martin (referee) ; Raffai, Peter (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to create overview about vehicle safety assist systems and to show their impact of road traffic safety. In the first part of this thesis systems were categorized by their function and characteristic. After that there were created a survey about accident rate and there were shown the most common causes in road accidents. In the second part was discussed principle how brake assist systems and automatic emergency braking work. In the last section was explained assessment under Euro NCAP directives, where the attention was focused onassesment of the experimentsof safety assist.
Intersection of highways No II/448 a II/449 by Drahanovice
Stejskal, Filip ; Novák, Martin (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with a modification of intersections of roads No. II/448 and II/449 in Drahanovice. The current situation is a 4-way intersection and there is an issue of the driver’s uncertainty whether he is on a main road or a side road. Therefore a modification to a roundabout instead of the existing intersection is designed. The thesis also includes a proposal for pedestrian communication.
2 + 1 Roads
Kosňovský, Michal ; Apeltauer, Tomáš (referee) ; Kocourek,, Jiří (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
This dissertation addresses the possibility of using the 2+1 road arrangement in the Czech Republic. Given that there is no such 2+1 segment in the Czech Republic, it was necessary to find sections with similar characteristics, evaluate and measure the rate of accidents as well as sectional velocity. The accident rate was evaluated on 72 sections and based on this research the optimal length of 2+1 arrangement road sections was determined. Digital image analysis and license plate recognition was used to evaluate the sectional velocity. Eight selected sections was subjected to the additional sectional velocity measurement, which showed improvement in passenger vehicles travel time. Traffic model microsimulations were performed after the data analysis. 2+1 arrangement roads are suitable solution for increasing travel speeds on sections where building of four-lane road is not economically viable.
Methods of accident evaluation and their optimization
Soukupová, Tereza ; Budík, Ondřej (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
The thesis deals with the comparison of accident assessment methods and their optimization in the Czech Republic and other selected countries. The work is based on the methodologies of individual countries, which were examined and then compared and evaluated in terms of practical use. The gained theoretical knowledge was applied to practical examples in the form of selected section of roads and crossroads. Every area was evaluated and compared in terms of accident rate.
