US Collegiate Football Analysis: Team's Success as an Indicator of Academic Performance

American football as the most popular sport in the US higher education attracts millions of students to compete in various leagues under the supervision of the National Collegi- ate Athletic Association. Matches between the top university teams that are part of the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision belong to the most attractive and historical rival- ries bring high fan support and media attention. However, this also comes with greater stress for competing student-athletes and thus the impact of losing on their psychological state outside the pitch should not be understated. Following previous studies about the impact of collegiate football, this analysis used data about 114 Division I-FBS teams across 13 years to examine the effect of football performance on the academic results of student-athletes. The results showed positive and significant effects of relatively success- ful season on the academic performance of players, whose mentality towards studying and socialization outside football improve in case of a successful season. Construction and reconstruction of university library buildings in the Czech Republic over the period 2000-2010

The thesis deals with structures of university libraries in the Czech Republic. It is notionally split into two parts. The theoretical part contains the views of Faulkner- Brown (architect), Mr. McDonald (Director of Library of the University of East London), PhDr. Ladislav Kurka and Ing. Martin Svoboda on the appearance and properties of the ideal model of university library in terms of architecture and social factors. The practical part at first contains general information about university libraries and their position relative to the legislation in the CR. The main focus of work is a summary of newly constructed or reconstructed buildings of academic libraries in the Czech Republic in the years 2000-2010. Each library is described on the basis of found information or personal visits of the author. The following assessment describes how the above-described libraries are functional and aesthetically well made. There are scetched basic problems with which the buildings face now or may face in the future and how it can be solved. In conclusion, the author questions subjectively the situation of university libraries in the Czech Republic and their near future.
The procrastination of college students

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic procrastination of the college students. It seems the procrastination is still more often habit and people, not only students, are suffering by it all over the world. Many students are procrastinating but a lot of them only think they are procrastinating and they just want to hide their laziness. This bachelor thesis has some goals: to find out, if students know procrastination, if they are procrastinating, how and how long. There is described procrastination in the first part, its types and how to fight with it. In the second part is the research, its results, summary, findings and advices.
