Cooperation between a teacher and a teaching assistant at the first stage of primary school.

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of cooperation between a teacher and a teacher's assistant at the first level of elementary school. The theoretical part defines the role of the teaching assistant, the prerequisites for good cooperation between the teacher and the teaching assistant, and the personality requirements of the teaching assistant. The goal of the thesis is to clarify how the cooperation between these two teaching staff currently takes place, including various possibilities for mutual cooperation, which can subsequently positively affect the effectiveness of teaching. In the empirical part, a qualitative scientific method called a semi-structured interview was used. Data were collected from both teachers and teaching assistants at the first level of elementary school. Data saturation was supported by content analysis of school documents. Data analysis was conducted through open coding and other methods appropriate for qualitative scientific methods. The organization of teaching pupils with special educational needs in the common class of primary school

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of inclusive education at ordinary primary school, in the practical part with education of these pupils at a common school of rural type. The aim of the theoretical part is clarification what the inclusive education means, what conditions the pupils with special educational needs need and what support operations are suitable for smooth integration into the collective and for their development. The aim of the practical part is with the help of observation, dialogues and own experience to analyze the success of the process of the inclusive education at a small primary school of rulal type with a capacity of approximately 150 pupils, eventually to find out shortcomings and conditions which are needed to resolve and improve in such a way that the teaching at that school is successful.

This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of motivation for a job of teaching assistant and reasons for maintaining in the status. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is divided into seven chapters. It is mainly focused on development of school integration, pupils with special educational needs and posibilities for taking part into the regular schools in the Czech Republic. It describes attitudes of general public towards people with disabilities, indicators of educational inclusion and inclusive culture of school. It describes the role of a teaching assistant his duties, competences and workload in educational context. The main object of a research presented in the empirical part is to examine the reasons that are related to acceptance of a job of teaching assistant. Furthemore, it analysed motivation for remaining in the status of teaching assistant in a long term. The research was realised by the in-depth interviews.
