Magnetic separator
Lengál, Zdeněk ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Jonák, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this work is a search containing an overview of similar devices and manufacturers and to describe the function of the magnetic separator. It also contains a concept for the structural design of magnetic separator for separating small-sized industrial waste. According to specified parameters was performed functional calculation and strength calculation of separator frame. This work includes documentation drawings containing assembly drawing and selected detailed drawings.
Effective proposal and operation of sorting line as an element in waste management
Guštara, Dominik ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (advisor)
The hereby presented master’s thesis deals with municipal solid waste separation. The introductory chapters describe current state of handling of selected recyclables and the technologies of their collection. The following chapter is a description of a waste sorting line technology, since this facility’s function is to upgrade the recyclables to secondary materials. The first step of practical part of this thesis was creation of a technical-economic model of the sorting line designed to process plastic and paper waste, therefore the following chapter is dedicated to its description and presentation. Subsequently, the outputs of the model are evaluated for three settings of its input variables, which represent the three imagined scenarios of the modeled sorting line’s operation. Sensitivity analyses focused on selected input variables of this model were also performed. A separate chapter is dedicated to changes in the model outputs in the case of including the waste transportation prices to the selected scenario. At the end of the thesis, the influence of increased material separation of plastic waste on the lower heating value of residual mixed municipal solid waste is evaluated.
Proposal of strategy to improve waste separation and its communication
Klučina, Tomáš ; Postler, Milan (advisor) ; Kartalová, Petra (referee)
The Master's Thesis focuses on waste separation in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to propose a strategy and its communication, which would result in increasing participation in waste separation in the Czech Republic. To achieve the stated goal the thesis utilizes primarily two methods, analysis and comparison, which are later supported by primary research in the form of survey and its evaluation. Results of the conduced survey provide key information about main barriers and motivators perceived by the target group and serve as a basis for formulating strategy and plan of communicating the individual parts of this strategy.

Knowing and position of students on basic school in the second grade about garbahe and his waste sorting in area of town Pisek.
SAIDOVÁ, Andrea
Awareness and attitudes of pupils attending the second stage of elementary school in the Písek region on waste and waste separation. In this thesis basic information on waste separation is summarized and the awareness of this issue in pupils attending the second stage of elementary school is described. The theoretical part is primarily focused on general principles of waste separation. It gives an account of different types of waste, waste recycling and the subsequent usage. Programs for elementary schools, campaigns and competitions on waste separation are presented. The way how to separate waste nowadays is recommended, functioning of the waste collection points is mentioned and legislation on the subject is explained. In the practical part results of my research are presented. This research dealt with the awareness of pupils attending the second stage of elementary school in the Písek region on waste separation and whether these pupils separate waste at home or at school. This research was conducted using questionnaires with closed, semi-closed and open-ended questions. One half of the questionnaires was distributed in a village school and the other half in a town school. Two hypotheses had been stated before the research started. The first hypothesis was not confirmed by the research, but the second hypothesis was confirmed.
