Phillipsova křivka v zemích V4
Krejčová, Michaela
This diploma thesis deals with determination of the relationship between unemployment and inflation using regression analysis in V4 countries. Four models are tested. The first model is a simple model of the Phillips curve that examines the relationship between inverse unemployment and inflation. Two other models deal with the relationship between unemployment and inflation expectations. The latter model addresses the relationship between cyclical unemployment and unexpected inflation. This work also includes calculating the natural rate of unemployment and determining the standard deviation using the Delta method. This work also deals with cyclical unemployment and the presentation of supply shocks for the V4 countries.
Přímé zahraniční investice v kontextu konvergence/divergence zemí Visegradské čtyřky
Hlavizňa, Antonín
Aim of this thesis is to evaluate impact of foreign direct investments on convergence/divergence of the Visegrad four to EU15. Theoretical part contains necessary knowledge to execute this evaluation and includes review of empirical research employed with impact of FDI on economic growth. In first part of empirical analysis beta-convergence model is used to discover convergence of observed countries during period 1995-2015. Estimation uses OLS regression. The results show successful convergence of V4 to EU15. Afterwards there is analysis of impact of FDI on economic growth for the same period. Four models with escalating difficulty were used to evaluate this impact by using panel data regression. Pooled OLS and fixed effects are methods used in this regression. In the last model, more EU transition countries are included to confirm one of investigated hypotheses. Results of this analysis show significant and positive impact of FDI on economic growth in EU transitive economies. Using only V4 countries, I did not find out this impact to be significant. At last, all results are evaluated and given to mutual context. Recommendations to economic policy makers are included as well.

Vachuška, Jakub ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Hašek, Oldřich (referee)
Regional differentiation of fertility in the Visegrád Four countries at NUTS 2 level in the period 1993-2016 Abstract Bachelor's thesis deals with the regional differentiation of selected fertility characteristics in the Visegrad Four countries between 1993 and 2016. Part of the thesis is dedicated to discussing reproductive behaviour changes in former socialist countries which started in the 1990s. The thresis puts an emphasis on the clarification of the causes of these changes, with the second demographic transition and economic changes mainly discussed. The section analysing regional differentiation of fertility is conducted at NUTS 0 level for single years and at NUTS 2 level using eight three-year periods. Regional differentiation of the rate, timing and age structure of fertility is analysed. During most of the period examined, convergence of the rate and timing of fertility occurred. Some regions as regions of capital cities were distinguished by different fertility characteristics. During the analysed period there is a noticeable significant shift in fertility age structure towards higher ages in all regions, and this gradually affected fertility rate in all of them. Keywords: regional differentiation, fertility, Visegrad Group, rate, timing
