The issue of crime victim in criminology Resume The purpose of my thesis is to describe all aspects of the situation of the victims, to find some problems they have to solve and to suggest the possible solutions of these problems. I find this topic very interesting. In the past, people concerned only with perpetrators of crimes. The victims were ignored. The situation is better now, nevertheless the position of the victims is not as good as it should be. It is necessary to make some changes, mainly to prevent secondary victimization because it is a big problem the victims must deal with. It is also very important to make some changes in our legislation to improve the position of the victims. The thesis is composed of ten chapters which are divided into subchapters. The chapter one deals with victimology. The first part focuses on a history of victimology and the second part deals with its subject. The chapter two concentrates on the term Victim. It also focuses on some aspects that increase the probability of becoming a victim. Finally, the third part of this chapter deals with the typology of the victims. Victimisation and Assistence for Victims of Crime

The aim of my dissertation is to describe in detail the issue of victim of crime. The thesis is composed of seven chapters which include three main topics. The first three chapters create general introduction to the subject, its matter of interest, present historical overview, explain the general terms of the topic, such as victimology, damage, victimity etc., define the subject of victimology and describe the possible factors of the relation between victim and trespasser, their mutual interaction during and after the criminal act. Chapter four concentrates on the negative aftereffects created during the criminal investigation process, which is called victimization. This chapter is divided into four subsections (primary victimization, secondary victimization, tertiary victimization and revictimization). The fifth chapter focuses on assistance to the victim and ways of obtainable compensation. The chapter mainly deals with family assistance, psychological assistance and social assistance. In connection with the psychological assistance, the chapter gives a brief overview on Bílý kruh bezpečí (White Circle of Safety), its activities and work methodology. Contemporary Czech Sexology and Homosexuality

7 ABSTRACT This thesis focuses on a textual analysis of articles in the field of sexology, which were published in the Czech Republic after 1989. It will examine through both quantitative and qualitative methods, how authors of sexological articles defined the term homosexuality and worked with it, as well as explore their varying approaches to the topic depending on context. The thesis will ask whether the sexological discourse about homosexuality has changed after the fall of the communist regime, and if it has, in what ways. Mobbing in the work environment

The thesis deals with the phenomenon of psychological terror in the work environment and offers a compact view of this widespread social problem. The focus of the empirical research was quantitative survey aimed to discover the approximate dispositions of bullying in Czech workplaces. Data were gathered from a non-random convenience sample (N = 306; F = 66.0%) of anonymous workers through a modified online version of the Negative Acts Questionnaire (NAQ-R). According to the self-labelling approach, 16.0% of the respondents had been (4.9% regularly; 11.1% occasionally) targets of workplace bullying during the past 6 months. The complementary behavioural method detected that 21.9% (11.4%) of the respondents had been subjected to at least one (two) of the negative acts on a weekly basis. The predominantly experienced negative acts had been work-related. The most prevalent source of workplace bullying was reported to be superiors (73.5%). There was no significant difference between males and females or the public and private sectors.

Edukation of Police Officers on issues of victim assistance

This thesis deals with the training of police officers on issues of victim assistance. Its mission is to develop a theoretical introduction with a focus on victims of crime from the perspective of science, then map the system of assistance and training of police officers in the area of victims of crime and help mediated in collaboration with external organizations. An integral part of the work is also adequately describe the appropriate way of dealing with victims of police officers, furthermore, based on a questionnaire survey to analyze the assistance of police officers to victims of crime in terms of legal and psychological aspects of their behavior and knowledge according to length of service. This analysis will draw some conclusions and the for this issue will be designed methodical plan aimed at expanding the knowledge of police officers for assistance to victims of crime.

Assistance to victims of the crime of rape

This bachelor thesis elaborates the problem of criminal offence of rape and its impact on its victim. It focuses especially on the victim as such and on the effects that the criminal offence has on the victim, like health problems in consequence of sexual violence, risk of secondary victimisation, impact of rape on victim´s family and closest surroundings. In this thesis I assessed what rape brings for the victim what the psyche concerns (meant beyond the paragraphs) and I proposed how to help the victim to cope with this traumatic experience

Standing of Victims in the Czech Legal Order

Position of Victims within the Judiciary System of the Czech Republic By Eva Kaplova My Diploma Thesis pursues position of victims within the judicial system of the Czech Republic; especially from the point of view of statutes which the victims may wish to rely upon when seeking legal assistance. In this work, I describe and distinguish understanding of two basic concepts; the concept of an "aggrieved party" (an injured party) and, the concept of a "victim". I also take into consideration the rights to compensation already vested in the current Czech jurisdiction. I review and assess the laws currently in force, especially from the point of view of adequate protection of a victim; as compared to final amendments to the Czech Body of Law, to be enacted by 2013. I bring up numerous issues concerning primary and secondary victimisation. Furthermore, I compare some problematic issues concerning the victim from an international perspective, especially then within several states of the European Union. Finally, my Thesis brings up several suggestions of improving as well as increasing the threshold of victims' protection within the framework of the Judiciary of the Czech Republic.

Victim´s right to compensation for damage caused by the offender

The bachelor thesis has been focused on an examination of the crime victim's rights listed in the legal order of the Czech Republic. In connection with the victim's rights it deals with an impact of an amendment of the Criminal Act on the status of the crime victims, when it comes to a significant strengthening of crime victims' procedural right. The victim will have a much greater opportunity to express to the crime during the criminal proceedings itself, to describe his/her own mental condition, consequences of the crime. It is expected that a victim's position in the criminal proceedings will be much stronger than before. The thesis deals with an analysis of the proving and decision-making process in the criminal proceedings on an extent of a claim for the compensation of the victim of the crime or the property damage but also of a moral injury caused by the offender. The goal is not only to highlight perceptions of the experienced situation by the crime victim, but also to refer to a restoration of disturbed interpersonal relationships among the victim and people around the crime victim. It is necessary to make the offender attempt responsibly to compensate for the consequences of the crime. The goal of the thesis is to develop a comprehensive study on an overview of crime victim's rights listed in the Criminal Code and to provide understandable instructions how to properly lead the crime victim to apply in practice the compensation for the damage from the crime offender's means.

Victimization rape victims, the sources of secondary victimization

Práce poskytuje přehled o problematice znásilněných obětí. Stěžejní část je zaměřena na oblast viktimizace, především na sekundární viktimizaci, kdy se oběť musí znovu vyrovnávat s emocionálními ranami, které vznikají zveřejněním trestného činu znásilnění.V práci nalezneme psychologické aspekty této problematiky, poznatky o způsobu jednání s obětí znásilnění, faktory ovlivňující oběť při komunikaci a kontaktu se zdroji sekundární viktimizace, především s orgány činnými v trestním řízení. Součástí práce jsou také kazuistické případy dokreslující teoretické poznatky.
