Transnational Aspects of Identity: The Vietnamese of the 1.5 and Second Generations in Prague

Na pozadí transnacionalismu a kulturního pluralismu se vyvinuly konstrukty identity a sounáležitosti mládeže a dětí přistěhovalců, které odrážejí posun k bifokalitě a hybriditě. Na základě dvanácti hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorů studie zkoumala rozdíly ve vnímání identity u druhé generace a 1,5 generace vietnamského původu v Praze. Zjištěná data ukazují, že účastníci rozhovoru si vytvořili vlastní představu o dvou pólech češství a vietnamství a jejich vlastnimu umisteni mezi nimi. Druhá generace respondentů se nejvíce přikláněla k identifikaci jako Češi, následovaná česky orientovanými respondenty 1,5 generace, zatímco vietnamsky orientovaní respondenti 1,5 generace se identifikovali jako Vietnamci. Výsledky ukazují, že pocit domova mladeže a dětí migrantů je dán občanstvím, věkem, výchovným prostředím, rolí českých chův, jazykem, vystavením etnické komunitě, chápáním vietnamského dědictví a účastí v kulturních organizacích nebo účasti v pan- etnickych sítich. S ohledem na rozdíly mezi generacemi a v rámci jednotlivych generací výzkum také poukazuje na význam perspektivy životního běhu při studiu vývoje identity, přičemž zdůrazňuje dynamickou souhru individuálních, interpersonálních a strukturálních faktorů v čase. Care for the Vietnamese community from the perspective of both countries: Vietnam and the Czech Republic

The paper draws attention in clear propositions to the fact that the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic is structurally segmented society, but above all it is straddled between Vietnam and the Czech Republic. Vietnamese minority becomes a modern Central European diaspora. Given this fact, it seems that the issue is on the table to seek a coordinated interest (in the paper called the term "care") of the local minority on the part of both countries: Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
The influence of social networking to young people from the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic

This thesis discusses the social media and its impact on the Vietnamese youth living in the Czech surrounding. Firstly, the author mainly deals with the topic of social media and their impact, especially the most popular one -Facebook. Secondly, she deals with the issue of Vietnamese living in the Czech republic and not to forget Confucianism, which has a tremendous influence on Vietnamese culture and mentality. Furthermore, she analyses the first generation of Vietnamese and their adaptation into the Czech culture, then second generation - young Vietnamese who were born in the Czech republic or moved here in their early ages. In the practical part the author examines the personal experiences both of the first and second generation Vietnamese living in the Czech republic based on the interviews. The author aimed to either confirm or disprove her theory of social media having a similar impact on the youngs as from the Czech republic, so from Vietnam. In the conclusion of this thesis, all findings are summed up and the author confirms her original assumption based on the outcomes from the interviews the theory, mentioned above is confirmed.

Vietnamese " colonization " of the Czech borderland we can distinguish three main aspects: 1) Vietnamese knew this area of its operation before 1990, where they remain as apprentices or workers, 2) to move to the border is urged attraction Czech -German border area for commercial activities , and because of a great rate people, 3) The essence of Vietnamese arriving at the western boundary was actually a " systematic " colonization events. We therefore Vietnamese presence in this part of today's Czech Republic include the history of the Czech borderland settlements after 1945.
The impact of migration on labour market in the Czech Republic

The goal of this thesis is to analyse the issue of migration and its main reasons, including its impacts on labour market in the Czech Republic. It attempts to deal with the question whether the foreign labour forces are gain or loss for the Czech Republic and if their presence can help solve some of the problems that are related to the Czech Republic. The bachelor thesis is devided in three parts. The first part is theoretical perspective, deal with the basic terms and selected theories of migration. The second part examines the issue of migration in the Czech Republic and the third part focuses on the Vietnamese community, which is the third largest ethnic group in this country. Based on the result of the survey, this thesis will be able to provide the mapping of current situation of Vietnamese's workers in the Czech labour market, their position and influences.
