AUTHOR: Kateřina Chrapková DEPARTMENT: The Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Jaroslava Zemková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor`s thesis deals with the practical use of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) in creating an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for child with autism. It also attempts to provide a more comprehensive view of the ABA intervention, which provides individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) an additional option in their educational process. The work is divided into four parts. The first chapter characterizes autistic spectrum disorder and its classification. Included are descriptions of education possibilities for individuals with ASD as well as strategies for making an Individual Education Plan. The second chapter introduces the history and development of Applied Behavioral Analysis and specific Verbal Behavior Approach of Applied Behavioral Analysis (VB-ABA). To give a comprehensive view of VB-ABA intervention, included are the theoretical outlines of the structure and organization of the program, terminology defined as well as a brief overview of learning methods.
