Systems Design of Correction Coding
Křivánek, Vítězslav ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
Due to growing transmission speed burst-forming errors tend to occur still more frequently not exclusively in data transmission. The presented paper concentrates on the search for alternative burst error correction solutions complementing the existing methods in use. Its objective is an elaboration of a detailed analysis of the issue of convolution codes for error burst correction which can be used in individual anti-error systems and thus an achievement of better results than those attained by mass application of the existing solutions. First the methods implemented to remove or suppress burst errors are briefly characterized. This part is followed by a detailed description of the individual systematic convolution codes by means of mathematical tools which extend the set of possible evaluative criteria of anti-error systems which can be applied while assessing proposals for individual solutions. The acquired code properties are compared with convolution codes as well as with other versions of proposals for message protection against an error burst. The processed convolution codes are subject to testing by means of Matlab mathematical programme simulation in order to validate the correctness of the derived mathematical tools. This is because simulation represents the principal method applied to verify and present an already proposed security process and enables the acquisition of a better overview of the issue at hand. The feasibility of the individual anti-error systems is then confirmed by way of creating a circuit behaviour description in the VHDL language. Its high portability presents a big advantage when drafting individual systems of the actual implementation.
Software GNSS receiver
Jedlička, Petr ; Bobula, Marek (referee) ; Záplata, Filip (advisor)
The thesis deals with the analysis and the reception of the freely available signals of the navigation satellites in the L1 and E1 bands of the GPS and Galileo systems. The described signal reception sections include the process of the acquisition, the carrier frequency and phase synchronization and tracking, the spreading code phase tracking, the signal demodulation and the channel decoding. The simulation of the entire receiver is performed in MATLAB. The deeply analyzed signal reception component is the one responsible for the carrier phase and frequency synchronization and tracking. In that case, more methods and their comparison are usually listed. The signal reception component, which is responsible for the carrier phase and frequency tracking and the spreading code phase tracking, is also implemented in FPGA.
Mixed criticalities in motor control applications on Zynq platform
Pamánek, David ; Veselý, Libor (referee) ; Blaha, Petr (advisor)
This thesis contains introduction to PMS motor control using development board ZedBoard with Xilinx Zynq-7000 SoC. After that, there is a description of development environment Vivado and other modules. Finally, it contains description or created modules in Vivado environment which were combined together with peripheral drivers to demonstrate field oriented motor control algorithm of small PMS motor.
Laboratory kit for experimental work with CoolRunner devices
Gajdošík, Petr ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolouch, Jaromír (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the programming of the CPLD device from the CoolRunner.II family, made by Xilinx company, through the use of USB bus. This bus and its application is an integral part of many devices nowadays. These programmable devices are used very often, mainly because of their speed and flexibility. They can be used in many different applications. The main task is to design a laboratory kit containing input switches, outputs of signaling LED diods and a 7segments display. Next possibility is to connect it with a chance plug in many external inputs and outputs. The thesis contains some examples of programs in the VHDL language.
Implementation of Bloom Filters in FPGA
Matoušek, Denis ; Kaštil, Jan (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
The thesis deals with probabilistic data structure Bloom filter and its modifications - counting Bloom filter and multistage filter. The fundamentals of these data structures are explained and the mathematical equations describing their properties including the equation to minimize the false positive rate are shown. Appropriate hash function is chosen considering an implementation on a FPGA chip. Designs of architectures of the hash function and data structures are implemented in VHDL language and their synthesis is done. Its results are discussed considering occupied resources of a FPGA chip, a critical path and maximum frequency.
Expansion Module with Color LCD Display for FITkit Platform
Michal, Pavel ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The objective of this thesis was to create a module with color LCD display for FITkit platform and its controller in VHDL. The module allows you to use all display modes of used display and display image data from the microcontroller, FPGA and PC. This thesis also deals with resistive touch screen controls.
