Selection and design of using project management methodology in a small IT company
Strnad, Marek ; Oškrdal, Václav (advisor) ; Bachmann, Petr (referee)
The thesis focuses on the selection and design of using project management methodology in a small IT company. The company develops enterprise software and deals with many problems that lead to frequent failure to comply with deadlines and cost overruns on projects. The theoretical part deals with the analysis of a range of approaches and "best practices" for implementation of the project management methodology into the organization. The analysis of these materials is then the basis for creating my own framework of recommended procedures for implementing project management methodology into the organization. The theoretical part also contains characteristics of the most widely used project management methodology. There are two objectives in the theoretical part - analysis of approaches and best practices for the implementation of the project management methodology into the organization and creating a framework of recommended procedures for implementing the methodology into the organization. The practical part has three objectives and starts with analysis of the current state of the small IT company from the perspective of project management. This analysis is the first objective of the practical part. To achieve this objective, several analytical methods were used, alongside with the measurement of the maturity of processes using CMMI models. The second objective of the practical part is the comparison and selection of a suitable methodology for project management of the small company according to selected criteria. To select the appropriate project management methodology are used two approaches - empirical and simplified selection. The final objective of the thesis is the application of the framework of recommended procedures for establishing the project management methodology into the organization.

This diploma thesis engages with methodologies of managing processes in informatics. This thesis takes into account ITIL, COBIT and ITGPM frameworks considering primarily aspects of setting-up and ensuring SLAs of the services provided by informatics. The author of this thesis has chosen this topic with regards to his profession where as project manager has met typical problems related to the development as well as to the operation of information systems. The goal of this work is to find out what is the approach of each of the considered methodologies to SLAs and their fulfilment. In the second part the thesis is aimed in practical impact of SLAs to the development and operation phases of the service lifecycle. In the first part of the thesis, the given objectives are met on a theoretical level, where is for each of the selected methodological frameworks captured its approach to the issues related to an information service operation, its parameters and their ensuring. Next goal, still on theoretical level, is to find out, whether the individual methodologies (approaches) can be combined together in order to reach the needed quality of a service. In its second part is the thesis aimed on practical analysis of the SLA impact on the development and operational activities. As an example, the author describes necessary adjustments to the processes of both, the provider and the customer of any informatics service, beginning from the initial analytical phases to the live mode of the service. The practical part combines approaches of the given frameworks and adds author's experiences gained in the domain. In the end of the thesis, findings and conclusions resulting from the captured facts are briefly summarized, including the author's opinion and recommendations.

Software testing in Microsoft Visual Studio
Padevět, Daniel ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor)
In software development process, there can be misunderstandings, communication problems between individual members of the development team and mistakes when writing code or designing applications. These problems need to be resolved before the application is released into the production environment. To discover these errors it is necessary to properly test the software product. All these activities are engaged in discipline called Software Quality Assurance (SQA), which is an integral part of the software development process. The thesis discusses this discipline and procedures for software testing using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. The main objective of this work is to create comprehensive methodology for automated testing of web and Windows applications in Microsoft Visual Studio and to verify that procedures in practice. The reader will learn the theoretical basis of software testing at the beginning of the thesis. In next chapter, there are described various features that Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 offers for software testing. Following chapter describes the applications testing in IBM Rational Functional Tester, which is suitable for Windows applications testing (Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 does not support this kind of tests). In other part of the work -- Case Study -- the reader will learn web and Windows applications testing. Case study can serve as a basis for further methodological manual for teams engaged in software testing. The usage of instruments for testing is explained in real examples. At the end of the work there are set out recommendations for the team collaboration using Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and there are also compared the testing instruments and reviewed functions that will come up with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

METODIKA PRÁCE BUSINESS ANALYTIKA NA DLOUHODOBĚ TRVAJÍCÍCH PROJEKTECH
Pelc, Jiří ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Klimeš, Jiří (referee)
Dlouhodobě trvající projekty patří do kategorie projektů majících zvláštní charakteristiky.
