The impact of entrepreneurship on economic performance in Central and Eastern Europe

Entrepreneurship is viewed by scholars and policy makers as an important factor contributing to increased levels of economic performance. New businesses are conduits of innovation, connecting resources and ideas within the economy and fostering competition. Central and Eastern Europe is a special case regarding entrepreneurship, due to its communist legacy. The surge in entrepreneurial activities caused by the process of market liberalization ultimately affected economic development in the area. This thesis acknowledges the importance of studying entrepreneurship in Central and Eastern Europe, and aims to analyse the impact of new business formation on economic performance in the region. To do so, the thesis creates a comprehensive guide of theoretical frameworks linking entrepreneurship to measures of economic performance and applies them to the Central and Eastern European area. The thesis also develops an empirical study using regression analysis with regional Eurostat data, which shows that new business formation has a significant, positive impact on GDP levels in Central and Eastern Europe. Economic Position of Chile in Latin America

The aim of this thesis is to provide a general characterization of Chile with focus on the economic history and contemporary macroeconomic situation. This piece of writing shows the determinants of economic growth and makes a comparison of the country's economy by using graphs and charts. A secondary aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to compare the economic performance of this state with other selected Latin America countries. My writing is composed of two main parts. The first part, the theoretical part, defines the basic terminology related to the issue under examination, focusing on macroeconomic variables in relation to economic growth. Furthermore, alternative indicators for measuring the efficiency of economy are presented. Based on this theoretical part, general economic characterizations of Chile together with five other countries of the Latin American continent and their mutual comparison are developed. At the end a graphical comparison of the economics of these six countries is proposed.

This diploma thesis works with innovation that is described as a key factor of development in global economy. First charter described management approach to innovation in enterprise and consequent micro economical view is followed by macro economical analysis of innovation. The main aim of this part is to define key factors that affect innovation and competitiveness of economy. The third charter is dedicated to institutional framework on innovation in European Union, United States of America, Japan and China. The result of thesis is a set of theoretical recommendations and simple model of innovation company and economy.
