Systems for automated submitting and evaluating students' assessments

The goal of this work was to research the world of automated student assessment and prepare the base for easier launch of such a system at University of economics, Prague. For this purpose existing testing techniques were analyzed, so were evaluation systems. On the basis of research requirements have been defined to which the resulting solution should correspond. Open internet sources, student theses and personal communication with people dealing with the same problem were used to obtain all the information. The first part is devoted to describing the technologies which should one way or another help define the requirements of evaluating system. The second one analyzes the existing technologies. The conclusion provides a path that should direct future development.
E-learning support for teaching seniors

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is creating an electronic course (tutorial) for The University of the Third Age on University of Economics in Prague. The thesis is metaphorically joining topics like information and communication technology and education in it's own theme. Before creating the tutorial, it is necessary to explain the term e-learning. Therefore the thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The main contribution of this thesis is creating a specific electronic course for students of The University of the Third Age using up-to-date programs, uploading the course on the Internet (specifically YouTube server), course presenting to the students and explanation of the term e-learning itself in the context of modern times at e-learning.
Czech and German cultural standards from the exchange students' point of view

This thesis deals with the subject of Czech and German cultural standards and the way they influence the daily lives of exchange students. The main objective lies in the abstraction and definition of cultural standards of this specific target group. The theoretical part introduces different approaches to the term culture and further describes two main concepts of cultural studies -- the methodology of cultural dimensions and cultural standards. The practical part opens with an introduction to German history, economy and points out the leading role that this country has in the international relationships. Following is the list of possibilities for exchange study programmes at the University of Economics and the summary of activities that are organized by the International Studies Centre. Most importantly, this part sums up the results of the research I did among the exchange students from the Czech Republic and Germany. Further, I compare the results of my research with the conclusions reached by Ivan Nový. In the conclusion there is a set of recommendations for the exchange students that should ease their first contact with a foreign culture.
Information and communication channels that are used by students of University of Economics

This written work is about the information and communication channels that are used by students of University of Economics. The word "channels" can be replaced by the word "sources". Primary goal is to identify important information and communication sources and then describe them, evaluate them and find their deficiencies. Secondary goal is to examine the sources that are designed for students of the first year, for example the day of the open doors or the familiarization tour. Work is divided into two parts according to type of the sources. The aim of work is to find a solution to deal with the revealed shortcomings and introduce recommendation how to repair overall conception of giving the information to the first year students and how to repair channels that are used by all the students. For evaluation of the channel there was made a questionnaire which was send to the students of University of Economics.
Financial analysis of Třinecké železárny a.s.

The aim of my work is to get know the progression in the financial analysis, to apply this knowing in the concrete firm and than evaluate this firm. I have chosen Třinecké železárny, a.s. for the practical part of my work.
