Drop out in competitive girl's basketball

Title: Drop out in women's youth competitive basketball Objectives: The main goal of this master thesis is to use electronic questioning to find out the reasons for the atrition of former female players, within the last five years, in the categories U12-U19 (the so-called age category 12-19 years) from the basketball Youth Sports Centers (SCM and SpS) that have been assigned the status of the year 2022. Methods: The work used a combination of the quantitative method, in the form of an electronic questionnaire that was sent to former young female players, and the qualitative method, where in-depth interviews were conducted with four coaches and one female coach. For higher accuracy and better com- parison of results, the questionnaire was constructed based on previously conducted studies on the drop out of sports activities of children and youth, specifically according to the model "Questionnaire of reasons for attri- tion" by Gould et al. (1982). Results: A total of 1945 girls droped out from basketball centers during the period under review. 160 former players participated in the research. Values and motivation in youth basketball

Title: Values and motivation in youth basketball Objectives: The main goal of this work is, to use an electronic questionnaire, to find out the importance and perceived frequency of determinants of entertainment, namely for youth basketball players aged 12 to 19 years, their parents and coaches. Methods: A quantitative method was chosen for the research, in the form of a questionnaire. It was based on a previously conducted study in the field of youth sports. Specifically, it is Fun Intergration Theory, which examines the determinants of fun. Results: The most important and most common dimensions of fun are: Positive team dynamics, Positive Coaching and Trying Hard. The least important and least frequent dimension is with a big difference Style. The most important determinant Having a coach who is a positive role model. The determinant of Earning medals or trophies was the least important, which also has the lowest frequency of occurrence. There are certain patterns among the perceptions of parents, coaches and players, especially in the dimensions of Positive Coaching, Trying Hard and Game Time Support. Retention of youth players in Czech football

Title: Retention of youth players in Czech football Objectives: The main objective of the research of this bachelor thesis was, with the help of electronic survey, trying to find the main reasons, why male children and youth from 13 to 18 years old dropout before they reach the adult level of playing organized football. Methods: A quantitative method of electronic survey was used. The questionnaire was shared via social network (Facebook) and the comment section on the webpage eurofotbal.cz. Furthermore, the questionnaire was directly sent to former footballers. Results: The most important reason, why children and young people dropout of playing football, was interest in other things and activities. This thesis did not investigate this reason to more detail. The least important reason was insufficient money for free contributions to the clubs. In general, structural reasons turned out to be unimportant. From ten the most important reasons, there are seven intrapersonal. Two are interpersonal and one is structural. Key words: Football, children, youth, withdrawal from sport, reasons for dropout
