Wireless data logger for environmental monitoring - client-side
Štopl, Vlastimil ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design a client-server device for automatic recording of environmental temperature for the storage of pharmaceuticals. This work focuses on the client part. The theoretical section includes relevant legislation for pharmaceutical storage and definitions of the Internet of Things. The practical part comprises the actual system design of the device and its implementation. The chosen control unit is the ESP8266 microcontroller in conjunction with the DS18B20 sensor.
Demonstration tasks of computer vision on a CNC milling machine
Duda, Pavel ; Honec, Peter (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the integration of computer vision into CNC machines in order to demonstrate the practical application of this technology. The task is to design several demonstration tasks to test and implement the various computer vision algorithms and subsequent data processing to control a CNC milling machine. In conclusion, we find an evaluation of the results and possible alternative steps to fulfill the problem.
Testing the impact of network infrastructure capacity on the performance of Internet access services
Hykš, Matěj ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the topic of measuring the transmission capacity of computer networks. It describes the differences between service and link parameters, which are measured using TCP, UDP, ICMP and other protocols. In the last theoretical part, it briefly describes the queueing theory and explains their relevance in today’s computer networks. The result of the work is a custom measurement system that will simulate multi-user access to the electronic communications network, measure its capacity and conform to standards.
Generating non-standard packets and data flows on Ethernet networks for teaching purposes
Mošnerová, Tereza ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed at the process of generating non-standard data streams that contain hidden information. For this purpose a software called Ostinato is used. Ostinato allows to select protocols on the individual layers of the TCP/IP network model according to the needs and preferences, and moreover, data bytes can be inserted and modified arbitrarily using the HexDump fields. Various fields of the TCP/IP protocols are used to hide data on the network, transport and application layers. The generated data packets can be easily modified which enables to create several other versions of them. These can serve, for example, as a semestral project assignment for the subjects Communication Technology and Modern Communication Techniques taught at BUT. In addition, the size limits of the inserted data of the individual data packet options are tested. The functionality of the generated packets is verified by Wireshark. As a result, several .ostm and .pcapng files including a text file with their clear description are provided.
Advanced Segmentation of a Simulated Network
Slávik, Mark ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Benedikt, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the simulation of available routing protocols in the NS3 simulator and in the Quagga module. The functions of simulated routing protocols are described in the theoretical part. In the practical part, the functionality of the NS3 simulator and the RIP, OLSR and OSPF, BGP routing protocols from the Quagga module are introduced using a simple topology. Finally, the network is extended and several subnets are added. Using available analysis tools, the network is subsequently analyzed and evaluated with different scenarios.
DPDK Accelerated Firewall
Holubář, Jiří ; Fukač, Tomáš (referee) ; Vrána, Roman (advisor)
Nowadays, when almost everyone uses the Internet, network traffic security must also be ensured. This is what firewall helps with. Some routes require higher bandwidth than others. This thesis explores possibilities of using the DPDK library when implementing the firewall in order to achieve the highest possible bandwidth.
Implementation of quality of service in a converged network
Zvolenský, Daniel ; Kovář, Petr (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The point of this work is the creation of IP network with a proper topology, in Network Simulator version 2, where voice packet stream with recommended compresion by G.723 standard and real-time video by H.263 standard will be simulated. Theoretical part of this work consists of convergence of nets with an implementation of Quality of Services description. In practical part of this work is identification with bacis commands in program Network Simulator 2, which make possible simulation of network behaviour.
Control and monitoring unit for optical link station
Ovčáček, Martin ; Kolka, Zdeněk (referee) ; Prokeš, Aleš (advisor)
The aim of Master's thesis "Control and monitoring unit for optical link station" is design of hardware and software of unit, which provides remote control and data transfer through Internet. It is required monitoring and setting analog parameters of optical link station by web service. It includes description of Ethernet and net protocols. The core of unit are microcontroller C8051F120 and ethernet controller CP2200 made by Silicon Laboratories.
ECG Signal Transmission via Ethernet
Bayerová, Zuzana ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
The semestral thesis describes ECG signal compression methods designed to modify the data for transmission via communication channels. The thesis contains an introduction to Ethernet and explanation of communication in the network. The transport protocols TCP and UDP are discussed in more detail. In the practical part of the thesis was created two separate applications. The first application in the sender's computer opens a text file with the ECG signal. Loaded ECG signal is filtered by cascade of filters to eliminate interference. The resulting signal is displayed. A part of the application is the R wave detection, calculating the length of RR interval and heart rate. The application also allows to compress an ECG signal. ECG signal is sent via Ethernet network via UDP protocol for individual samples. Applications in the recipient's computer receives signal samples from the network. Recieved compressed data is reconstructed. The resulting ECG signal is displayed and there are again detected R waves, the length of RR intervals and sampling frequency are calculated.
Communication assembly for optical cableless linking
Kapuš, Martin ; Kovář, Jan (referee) ; Kolka, Zdeněk (advisor)
This Graduate Thesis is about communication module for optical wireless network. This device read data from RS232 port and two analog inputs and sends it through internet to a remote Computer. Furthermore allows voice communication between local user on module and user on remote computer. Device allows communication with standard headphones and microphone, or with Bluetooth handsfree. Basic part is microprocessor MCF5223 and Bluetooth Ezurio BISM II module. Control program has been written in C language. Printed circuit is created by EAGLE program. This device is managed via web interface and settings have been stored into EEPROM memory. Work contains description of separately parts and blocks, source code of program, description of source code and printed circuit designs.
