Modification of a multi-recess hydrostatic bearing pad geometry
Šimara, Vít ; Robenek, Dětřich (referee) ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor)
In the design of a hydrostatic bearing, basic analytical expressions assuming parallelism of sliding surfaces and simple geometry can be employed. In this study, the properties of a specific pocket shape were investigated even under conditions of tilt, which can arise from assembly errors or asymmetric loading. Based on experimental data, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model of hydrostatic lubrication has been developed and validated. A constant flow through all recesses was considered and conditions of no movement of the sliding surface were assumed. The model was subsequently modified to a variant with discharge grooves separating individual recesses and a variant with variable recess position relative to the centre of the pocket. The results demonstrated that the pocket's ability to carry asymmetric loading increases mainly with increasing distance of the recess from the centre, followed by their size. However, this ability comes at the cost of higher performance losses in hydrostatic lubrication. The results of this work can be used for the design of pockets with different methods of pocket support or alignment.

Development in pure jet engine and production survey
Štefanovič, Peter ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
The main object of this bachelor thesis is a comprehensive review of jet engines. The thesis briefly explains the broad issue of gas turbines in terms of their operation and various advantages and disadvantages. Then it presents particular application areas. At the beginning it notes the history and introduction of jet engines to the significant field of aviation. The main part focuses also on the current manufacturing of individual types of engines with technical data. In the last section there are classified provisional steps which could affect or improve some parameters. In the end of the bachelor thesis trends and developments are suggested.
Design of the propulsion unit of the competition model airplane with vertical take-off and landing
Pilát, Adam ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis was written in order to design the propulsion system for a vertical takeoff and landing competition model airplane intended to participate in the New Flying Competition 2022. The task of the thesis was to analyze the rules of the competition and design the propulsion system. The research section includes an analysis on the competition’s rules followed by a review of the propulsion system components. In the next section, a basic analysis of the parameters of the airplane is performed for the purpose of the airplane fulfilling the competition requirements. In the last part of the thesis, a propulsion system components selection method is proposed and carried out. The output of the thesis is a propulsion system suitable for use in the designed airplane.
Modern Libraries for GPGPU Programming
Šuba, Patrik ; Kadlubiak, Kristián (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to conduct research in the field of graphics card libraries and to use this libraries to create a set of test cases. Test cases consist of mathematical operations with matrices and vectors. Two applications have been created for test cases. The first application was implemented in C ++ using the OpenMP library. The second application was implemented in C ++ using the cuBLAS and CUDA libraries. The implementation part of this work allows reader to look into the problematics of GPGPU programming and shows its practical use. The results of this work is to verify the performance and throughput of the graphics cards provided by the IT4Innovations group. The results of the applications are then compared with the referential values from the graphics card manufacturer and also among the used libraries.
Possibilities of determination of the correlation relations for the strength characteristics of shotcrete
Liška, Marek ; Dufka,, Ámos (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the possibility of establishing correlation relationships for the strength characteristics of sprayed concrete. The aim of the thesis is to study the fundamental properties of sprayed concrete recipes. An important point of the thesis will bemade by spraying concrete compared with concrete made with laboratory pressure. Based on the achieved results will be compiled correlation equations for a given set of concrete.
Historical Overwiev of F1 Chassis and Engines Evolution
Hrudík, Jan ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the overwiev of main periods in the area of race car construction development. In the first chapter, main attention is dedicated to Formula One cars, attending races since 1950. In spite of this, there is briefly noted the technological development before FIA Formula One Championship. Next chapter is dealing with technical restrictions and regulations restraining construction of Formula One car. Data are situated in the table, ascending sequenced according to the year. Next part refers to the actual Fia Formula One Championship season 2008. There is abstract of technical regulations and the list of actual Formula One teams, their cars and drivers. There is some pages acting with one of the Formula One team. In the last chapter some of technological experiments are presented.
Testing of Aircraft Jet Engines
Trusík, Vojtěch ; Klement, Josef (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor final project is composed from two main parts. The first part is focused on describing of aviation agencies, function of jet engine, testing bed and desribing of testing of jet engines. The second part devote to application of CS-E prescription on the jet engine TJ-100 C.
