Motivational and demotivational factors in the profession of a general nurse

This thesis discusses the motivational and demotivational factors that influence the work of nurses and their sense of satisfaction. The aim of the research is to map the motivational and demotivational factors that affect work performance of the Kolin Regional Hospital. The research's chose quantitative method was done by survey. The questionaire and it's contents were prepared by the author. The creation of the questionaire was based upon several similar surveys. Based on the author's research, it was found that interpersonal relationships among nurses were among the most powerful motivational factors; conversely, dysfunctional interpersonal relationships were the strongest motivational factors for changing employers. Another one of the strongest motivational factors was positive feedback from the patients. Since the research was quantitative in nature and covered the entire hospital, it is the author's opinion that the study should be repeated periodically and further focus on individual departments to better determine motivational and demotivational factors that affect work performance and overall job satisfaction. The Prevention of a Burn-out Syndrom in the Intensive Care Unit

The Abstract This thesis deals with the problematic of burn out syndrom. In the theoretical part it deals with the prevention from the side of the employer and the support of the Ministry of Health. It compares psychosocial support provided by the divisions of Integrated rescue system. In addition it describes the actual situation in providing of the long term intensive care with the focus on the roots of origins of the burn out syndrom in those departments. In the practical parts were describes 4 Prague hospitals (ÚVN, FN Motol, RK Malvazinky, ETOILE CZ, a. s.) and their areas of prevention, through the qualitative methodology of data collection. Through the analysis quantitative metodology, it was found out, that majority of the respondents would appreciate creation of anonymous phone line within the frame of psychosocial support. The respondents also claim that it would be good, if the employers would be given by the law the obligation to provide the psychosocial support. From the research it appears, that the employers, eventhough they are aware of the risk of the burn out syndrom appearance in the departments of intensive care, they do not measure the appearance of this phenomen with the tools meant for it. The aim of this thesis is to map the occurrence and magnitude of the burnout syndrome of social workers of Labour Office in Český Krumlov, department of noninsurance social benefits. It shows the most serious stressors and evaluates if the workers are aware of relaxation techniques preventing the burnout syndrome or if the employer is offering any compensations, considering the psychical demands of the occupation. This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical, which is formed by a quantitative research of the issue. The theoretical part is based on available literature and partially on my own knowledge gained in a burnout syndrome course in an education centre, where I have obtained the certificate of completion. Another source is my seven-year long experience in the field. The methodological part contains reasons for choosing the quantitative research strategy. It also includes a description of the realization of the research inquiry. The practical part of the thesis presents the results of findings from five interviews with social workers paying out social benefits. These findings are answering the given hypotheses concerned by perception of delimitation on 1st January 2012 by social workers.
Burnout syndrome at the nurses

The bachelor thesis deals with a definition of the burnout syndrome, its symptoms and prevention. Further, its aim is to present a relationship between the burnout syndome and personality characteristics of nurses. In the empirical part, the thesis attempts to register differences in the rate of burnout at nurses who work in a psychiatry ward and their comparison with nurses who work in other wards. At the end, the thesis tries to explain found differences .
Psychohygiene of social workers

Social work is supposed to be a highly demanding job. Psychohygiene is a set of rules which helps keep, improve and recovery the psychic balance and health. This thesis has been aimed at mental health tools used by social workers of the Strakonice region. The research was conducted by the qualitative method of a questionnaire and an interpretation. The following hypotheses were suggested: Social work is so demanding as the workers deal with people. Stress mostly results from time pressure. Psychohygiene depends on the individuals. The social workers exploit mental health tools. Supervision is provided in some organisations. The social workers are mostly satisfied with their lives.
