Automatic corrections in MS Office Word and their impact on children's grammar

In its theoretical part this bachelor thesis focuses on introducing how spelling and grammar corrections in text processors work on basic level. Brief history of text processors as well as linguistic basics needed for comprehension of the discussed problems are mentioned. In its practical part the bachelor thesis focuses on a research. Its goal is to examine whether there is a connection between using grammar and spelling correction in Microsoft Office Word 2007 and the level of grammatical expression of the youth. Another goal is to examine the hand written text conducted in the research for distribution of errors recognized by Microsoft Office Word 2007 in relation to errors not recognized by this program. A questionnaire and a dictate, which is first written in hand and then later in same form using Microsoft Office Word 2007, are used to gather the data necessary for the research. The evaluation of the research reveals some interesting results, however the hypotheses of the research are not validated.

Blended learning course to teach word processing

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of teaching computer science and various approaches to the teaching of the application environment. The work provides a comparison of available textbooks on the issue. Furthermore, in the theoretical part of the bachelor work is design a modern approach to teaching of the application environment. As a practical output of this work is, as its name suggests, the blended learning course to teach word processing, which is designed as a modern approach proposed in the theoretical part of the work. As most have already developed courses designed to teach only one word processor, this course is to teach whatever the word processor. The course includes teaching materials, divided into five chapters. Each chapter also includes a set of problems for practicing the subject.
Editor of mind map's text equivalent

The purpose of this Bachelor thesis is to create a practical text equivalent editor of mind maps. The concept of a mind map and its text equivalent is briefly explained in the introductory part of the thesis. Based on this knowledge a suitable text format has been chosen, which enables to store all necessary information. Prior to the implementation itself an analysis of the means used for the solution will be carried out. It is a case of development platform Netbeans IDE and its module XML MultiView Editor in particular.
