The Life of a Single Mom

The bachelor thesis deals with the life of single mothers. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to map the positives and to find out the possibilities of help from the point of view of social work. Two research questions were chosen: 1. "What are the positives of the life of single mothers?" 2. "What are the negatives of single mothers'lives?" This thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part briefly describes the current state, negative phenomena in the life of a single mother and the risks of single life. More specifically, social benefits for single women, maintenance obligations and the situation regarding single women at the time of Covid-19 were described. The practical part was processed using a qualitative strategy, questioning methods and semi-structured interview techniques. Interviews were conducted with single mothers, who were contacted on the basis of the snowball sampling method. The interviews were evaluated using the method of verified coding, on the basic of which eight categories were created. The research found that the life of single women is more complicated than in a complete family, however, it is possible to find both negatives and positives here. Based on the interviews, it was found that it would be desirable to focus on improving and expanding the portfolio of assistance for single mothers. The results of this work can serve as a basis for further research, specifically on how single mothers coped with the Covid-19 crisis, given that this bachelor's thesis monitors the situation of single mothers at the beginning and during the pandemic situation of Covid-19 in 2020/21. They can also serve as study material regarding the lives of single mothers.

Reasons for Choosing Asylum Houses for Mothers with Children

In today's society there are more and more single mothers, who have to take care of their children on their own. They often have neither a proper place to stay nor sufficient financial resources for living. As a result, they end up in asylum houses or on the street. This thesis gives an overall overview of this topic, where particular concepts are elaborated and explained in detail. It consists of thirteen chapters. The theoretical part focuses on explaining the main terms and deals with the history of asylum houses in the Czech Republic. The core part of this thesis is dedicated to the research, which should have helped to find the reasons why mothers seek asylum houses. I have designed a questionnaire for the mothers living in asylum houses to fill in and also lead interviews with them directly in the asylum houses, their natural environment. The last part of the thesis gives conclusions, to which the whole research had lead and also the list of references is included.

Analysis of Human Resources Single Mothers with Disabled Chidren (cerebral palsy) in České Budějovice

Firstly this bachelor thesis analyses human resources of single mother with a disabled child who is suffering from cerebral palsy in České Budějovice. And secondly it analyses what is the role of social relationships during the time of father's leaving from a family with a disabled child and the importance of relationships for satisfying basic needs. Thesis consists of two main parts theoretical and practical. First part is processing the topic of single-parent family, coping stress situations (birth of a disabled child and father´s leaving from family) and the importance of social relationships for social functioning of single mothers. The second part deals with practical research and its interpretation on the topic of using human resources of single mothers.

Psychological and Social Aspects of Uwanted Pregnancy and Maternity of Teenage Mothers in the Czech Republic

The composition is focused on psychological and social aspects of unwanted pregnancy and maternity of teenage mothers in the Czech Republic. It mainly describes the impact of unwanted pregnancy and parenthood on child{\crq}s development. You can find there possibilities of solving these situations which young mother have to cope with. These possibilities are: termination, the baby birth at home and leaving him at baby box, or the possibility of undergoing secret birth to propose baby for adoption or keep the baby in family care. This work describes approachable methods of compensatory family care which are very often used by teenage mothers within the institutional care. At the end the risks of family care by teenage mothers are also mentioned there. It is obvious from the concept of the presented work, that there are possibilities to find quite sufficient solutions in these difficult situations happening in the Czech Republic.

Decision of single mothers in Czech republic to enter the labor market

Nowadays there are a lot of single mothers and the institution of marriage is not as important for the family life as it used to be. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the present situation of single mothers in the Czech society and to assess the influence of unmarried motherhood on a decision about whether or not to enter the labor market. Currently the topic of single mothers is important because of the election to the Chamber of Deputies since each political party deals with family policy. The theoretical part of thesis evaluates reasons why women want to be and are single mothers, as well as what social benefits they can obtain in their situation. The situation on the labor market will be evaluated from the point of view of a single mother, and the evaluation will focus especially on barriers, motivations to enter the labor market and the reconciliation of work and family life. The practical part presents several model families with various types of family structure with the purpose to show how the social system is abused. Own recommendation follow. The main resources of data are Czech statistical office, Ministry of labor and social affairs and Research institute for labor and social affairs.
