Business Plan Focused on Financing

The diploma work presents financing from a structural funds of the EU and analysis of problems of this type of financing. Main focus is on elaboration feasibility study (economical project rating), that is an inseparable part of the application for grant from these funds. It also speaks about alternative methods of financial resourcing essentials to realize the desired business plan.

The first part of my work focuses on the theoretical description of EU regional policy, its evolution and the description and the objectives of the different programming periods. In this part of the work is also described which EU funds are being used for co-financing of different goals. Furthermore I define all operational programs which can be used to draw funds to provide grants. These information are necessarry to choose the right operational program to use. For the particular project co-financed from the European Union, I present an economic analysis of the project and a questionnaire survey which I use to do a qualitative assessment of the project and its help for the development of the region.

This thesis describes the origins and developement of The European union. The caracteristics of its organizational structure are discussed as well, followed by a summary of the developement of the structural policy of the EU and its effects on regions within EU member states. A description of how the structural policy of Czech Republic developed, both before and after admission to the EU, will conclude the theoretical portion of this thesis. Empirical section of the thesis focuses on the Pavlov Archeological Park project, which was predominantly financed through The European Fund of Regional Development.

Analysis of the Possibility to Draw Financial Means on the European Union's Funds for the Financing of Developing Activities in Municipalities, a concrete manifestation on an example of a town in the Czech Republic

The thesis is concerned with the analysis of the option of drawing financial means from the European Union's funds to finance the development activities of municipalities. Thanks to the membership of the Czech Republic in the European Union, the municipalities may draw the subsidies to increase not only their own standard of living, but also of the whole region. After classifying the basic terms focused on the public administration, the municipality budget is introduced in more detail as well as the options for subsidies on various levels of public administration, especially through the structural funds of the European Union. The practical part of the thesis makes a more detailed analysis of the budget of the Boží Dar municipality between 2006 and 2012, including the interview survey-based assessment of the impact of implemented projects on the whole municipality as well as the businesses there.
