Comparison of systems of education in the Czech Republic and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland focused on education of foreign languages on secondary schools

The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of comparison of systems of education in the Czech Republic and in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with focus on education of foreign languages at secondary schools. The systems of education of both countries are introduced and compared in terms of framework educational programme and National curriculum. The work with terminology is also pointed out by translation of technical terms into the Czech language. The practical part is focused on a lesson plan with the aim to present the differences of Czech and British system of education to the pupils of the ninth class. The thesis includes an insertion of the lesson plan to the Methodical portal RVP.CZ as a sample lesson of a cross- sectional theme of Multicultural education.
The selection of grammar curriculum in German textbooks for beginners.

Bachelor thesis deals with the selection of grammatical subject in textbooks for beginners Beste Freunde 1 and Macht mit. The theoretical part describes mainly the term of grammar, and what role plays the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in education. The practical part consists the analysis of the teaching files Beste Freunde 1 and Macht mit. The teaching parts are compared among themselves and at the same time, it is examined whether they correspond to the requirements of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. As a result of this analysis, it is found that the teaching files do not completely correspond to all requirements of the CEFR and at the same time, do not correspond with the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, which is a binding document.
Developing socio-cultural competence of students and selected textbooks of Czech for foreigners

The presented thesis focuses on the analysis of selected Czech for foreigners textbooks in terms of socio-cultural competence. In the first three chapters the term of socio-cultural competence is explained and its definition in the Common European Framework of Reference and in the descriptions of reference levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 for Czech is examined. Chapter four deals with a chosen research method - criteria catalogue. In chapter five selected textbooks (Česky, prosím I, Čeština pro cizince: Úroveň B1, Čeština pro cizince: Úroveň B2, Čeština pro středně a více pokročilé, Čeština pro život, Čeština pro život 2, Mluvme česky) are analyzed separately and in chapter six individual results of previous examinations are compared with regard to how the publications contribute to the development of socio-cultural competence of students. 1
Developing Reading Skills of Deaf Pupils in Accordance with the Reference Level A2

This thesis comments on the development of reading skills of deaf students at the language level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. In line with the view that deaf pupils should be educated bilingually, it draws primarily from foreign textbooks aimed at developing reading skills in foreign language teaching. It provides detailed instructions on how to develop the reading skills when working with a text, what exercises should be used and how the teacher should use them with students. The characteristics of each approach draws attention to possible errors which should be avoided in teaching reading skills. Taking into consideration the knowledge necessary for a pupil to be able to fulfill a reading comprehension task at A2 level and the correct teaching methods, this work provides a set of practice-oriented texts and proposed following activities. The texts are divided into three thematic areas and within each of them, the exercises are structured into several parts according to the different stages of work with a text. Exercises are also supplemented with methodological recommendations and instructions for use suggesting various modifications, pointing to the problematic situations and others.
The teaching of Spanish language and the partial issues of Frame educational programme for basic education

The author of this project went out of the requirements contemporary school reform due to are used sc. Frame topics, which are taught in diverse ways during lessons.
Textbooks of Spanish for Business and Common European Reference Framework

The main theme of the thesis is the confrontation of output acquirements developed in Spanish textbooks focused on professional language levels (ELE) with the aid of Common European Reference Framework. There are following issues in the first part: Spanish language with a view to professional purposes, Common European Reference Framework including the description references themselves. In the second part there are descriptions of some textbooks which are specialised on professional language. Next chapter contains the description of language exams. There are applicable analyses of mentioned textbooks used in the Czech Republic in the end of the thesis.
Výuka angličtiny ve Španělsku v rámci programu SOCRATES/ COMENIUS- Asistent při výuce jazyka

This diploma thesis deals with my stay at C.P.I. Tino Grandío, Guntín, Spain where I participate in classes of English as the SOCRATES/ COMENIUS language assistant in the school year 2006/2007. The Socrates programme as well as the Spanish system of education is presented in the theoretical section of this diploma work. Another part of this section is constituted by the presentation of the Common European Framework of Reference and the European Language Portfolio and their incorporation into the Spanish and Czech curricula. The practical section focuses on the presentation of my host institution C.P.I. Tino Grandío, in particular on its technical facilities, the course books employed in classes or on the aims of teaching English in general. The following part of the practical section contains examples of activities employed in classes of English where I participated as assistant. In this part, I also mention what the assistantship brought to me, what impact did it have on my host school and I comment on the problems encountered during my assistantship. In the final part, I evaluate the whole assistantship at C.P.I. Tino Grandío.
