Are the principles of ITIL service desk applicable to the environment of SME?

The goal of my master's theses was to analyze the requirements of the ITIL framework for a service desk implementation, identify specifics of SME companies and to try to scale down the ITIL implementation of a service desk to the size applicable to SME. In my practical part I'd like devise a functional model of the ITIL compliant service desk featuring Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management processes based on the Atlassian Jira sotware. After completing the theasis I will answer a question - if it is possible to use ITIL in the SME segment.
Implementation of project management in IT company

This thesis deals with the implementation of project management in an IT company from the sector of Small and Medium Enterprise. Its goal is to prepare the project management framework based on the robust methodics PMBoK, by which the company can begin to perform its business cases by using projects. The minor goals are the clear definition of project management and the summary of PMBoK and its features customized for the SME sector. This thesis consists of three parts: first one defines the basic terminology related to project management and includes the selection of the ideal organizational structure for project management in smaller company. Next part analyses the methodics PMBoK and it is used to derive a customized methodics for Small and Medium Enterprises.This methodics is then described more in detail in the last part with emphasis on process description. The main contribution of this thesis lies in creation of customized methodics of project management, which will be used in real life. Next minor contribution is the process of customization of PMBoK for SME.
Key prosperity factor of Draco enterprise

This thesis deals with analysis and detection of key prosperity factors in areas such as management, marketing, human resources management and financial management, which contributes to prosperity of an enterprise as well as detection of the ones which may be a threat to company's prosperity. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the key prosperity factors in Draco enterprise and suggest short and long term measures for improvement of prosperity in areas such as management, marketing, human resources management and financial management. Thesis consists of two pats, theoretical and practical one. In theoretical part are presented main characteristic of small and medium enterprises in analyzed areas. In practical part the analysis of polish office supplies wholesale are conducted in all previously presented areas. The outcome of the analysis is a advisory short and long term improvement measures that will result in better prosperity of Draco enterprise.
Implementation of DMS in SME through Cloud Computing

This thesis analyzes the field of Document Management Systems (DMS) in Small and medium enterprises (SME). To be more specific, it analyzes ways and opportunities of a transition of the actual company situation to a cloud solution realized by the means of outsourcing. Due to the fact that this transition consists of many steps, some of them are critical for a successful realization, those steps have to be precisely analyzed and afterwards a corresponding solution has to be proposed. This analysis describes in a detail all the connections, which may interfere with each other and which may also interfere with the whole transition. The goals of this thesis are mainly to provide a specialized analysis of the transition to the cloud DMS, analysis of available cloud solutions, their categorization and assessment, description of connections emerging from the use of the cloud DMS in Small and medium enterprises, description of impacts of realized solutions and finally a summary of the analysis into a compact unit designated to be used as a manual for cloud DMS implementation in the Small and medium enterprise.
Shift of the functionality of office suites in the era of cloud computing

This thesis deals with shift of the functionality of office suites in the era of cloud computing. The author examines the changing concept of office application software in the time of commercial software and the time of cloud computing and concludes that office applications are shifting their functionality from simple tools replacing just a calculator or typewriter into core corporate tools that affect the way how people communicate and collaborate.
The role of small and medium sized enterprises in Japanese economy

The work focuses on the development and current situation of small and medium enterprises in Japan. It includes a summary of the most important features which make these companies different from large companies, especially in relation to the national economy. The emphasis is mainly on the role of SMEs in creation of jobs and their impact on productivity and innovation. The work also examines the involvement of SMEs in Japan in subcontracting and clustering.
INTERNATIONALIZATION OF INNOVATION IN SMEs AS A STRATEGIC CHOICE: THE CZECH CASE

With the growing competition both on domestic and on international markets, SMEs face very specific challenges to sustain in their activity. A strategy to gain a competitive edge can be to internationalize innovative activities. In this work the internationalization of innovation is reflected in the context of SMEs. This is done in the first step by making a connection between research on SMEs, on Internationalization and on R&D and subsequently building a theoretical framework. In the second step, the innovative activity of a Swiss firm's Czech subsidiary is investigated on a case-study basis from the perspective of the suggested theoretical framework. The main contribution of this work to research is that it puts in a research field, which is dominated by large enterprises, the focus on SMEs.
Factors of enhancing the competitiveness of small-sized enterprise

The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of enhancing the competitiveness of small-sized enterprise applied to a particular company. The theoretical part specifies the basic characteristics of "small and medium-sized enterprises" and the factors of competitiveness, which are divided into four basic areas of business management -- management, marketing, human resource management and financial management. The practical part is related to theoretical piece of knowledge applied to the company "FCC Industrial Systems Ltd.". The result of the company analysis is suggesting of recommendations aimed for enhancing the competetiveness.
Cloud computing in the sector of small and medium enterprises

This bachelor's thesis deals with the new aged information technology -- cloud computing, especially from the perspective of small and medium sized companies, since the cloud can be one of the most effective ways of using ICT services for this sector. The thesis in the introduction, the theoretical, part aims to familiarize with the key elements of CC, which answer most common questions associated with this technology, in particular the existence of various types of cloud, its benefits, pitfalls and legal aspects. In the practical part has been the emphasis on analyzing the use of CC from the perspective of Czech firms and in terms of historical. In order to establish the objectives to be met, it was necessary first to study all supporting documents related to that topic. In the other phases was firstly conducted a survey among Czech companies, secondly in the past survey measured data so the stated goals could be analyzed. The results of the analysis can afterwards be marked as benefits for companies offering cloud services in the Czech market and to predict the future development of CC not only in the Czech Republic.
Information security management system in small business

This thesis discusses information security management and information security management systems in small businesses. The goal and prospective added value of this thesis is to provide with a set of practical comments and recommendations for those who implement and/or administer an information security management system in the delicate environment of a small enterprise. First part of the thesis contains theoretical definition of information security and information security management systems. Also, this part describes standards relevant to this thesis. Second part defines the concept of "small business" and discusses possible options of designing ISMS in such business so that it complies with standards mentioned above and is an effective as well as affordable solution which does not demand excessive amount of company's resources. Third and final part of this thesis is analysis of ISMS of a specific company that fits the definition of small business -- BDO IT a.s.
