BOUŠOVÁ, Adéla
The diploma thesis is focused on the role of nurses in the system of early search for critically ill patients in intensive care units. The Czech healthcare system still does not place the emphasis on the system of early search for the critically ill as it should. Knowledge of the issue can improve the quality of health care and reduce the mortality of critically ill patients who suddenly enter a life-threatening condition, but with knowledge of the issue, a life-threatening condition could have been prevented. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis consists of five chapters and several subchapters. The first chapter focuses on the critically ill, the second chapter on the monitoring of the critically ill, the third chapter on technical equipment in intensive care, the fourth chapter on the role of nurses in intensive care and the last chapter deals with the system of early search for critically ill patients. Three goals were set for the diploma thesis, namely to map the roles of nurses, how nurses are involved and whether they are educated in the issue of early search for critically ill patients. The practical part was processed by a qualitative survey in the form of semi-structured interviews, which were analyzed in the form of "paper pencil" by the method of open coding. The practical part was divided into four categories and then into subcategories. For clarity and clarity, the categories and subcategories have been visualized in diagrams. Based on the set goals of the diploma thesis, three research questions were set. The first research question dealt with the roles represented by nurses in the system of early search for critically ill patients. The second research question was how nurses are involved in the system of early search for critically ill patients. The third research question deals with the way of lifelong education of nurses in the system of early search for critically ill patients. The set goals of the diploma thesis were met.

The patient admission is a subject to a number of essential steps which has to be secured by the nurse. The nurse should have a full range of skills like to have the ability to organize the work, be patient and select a calm approach. The theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis describes the professional, administrative and the other steps in the admission of a sick patient for its hospitalization. The research part of the work was compiled in the form of a qualitative researching survey using a semi-structured interview. The first goal was to map the role of the nurse in admitting the patient to the A&E. The second goal was to map the communication skills of the nurse with the patient at the reception of A&E. To achieve the goal were set two research questions. What are the nurse's roles in admitting of a patient to the clinic? How can a nurse's communication skills affect a following collaboration with the patient? The research investigation has shown that although it has been conducted in two different departments of the one selected hospital; the results did not differ significantly. The respondents have been identified in individual tasks except of a few specific differences between the two work places. The respondents have been identified in individual tasks except for a few specific differences between the two workplaces. The results have shown that the role of the nurse lies in a wide range of tasks like ensuring blood collection, necessary examinations, etc. The administrative aspect is also provided same as data verification together with information to the anamnesis. Furthermore, the investigation has shown that the correct communication skills of the nurse are based on a correct and patient attitude together with the ability to be able to estimate the individual's behaviour. Nurses have pointed out the fact that this ability is closely connected with the length of a practice. The results of the work can be beneficial for nurses working on the reception of the A&E as well as for nurses newly coming and for students of medical schools. It could be very interesting to represent these results in professional journals because there are just a small amount of publications that comprehensively describe the individual steps.

Rosypalová, Marta ; Michálek, Pavel (advisor) ; Hocková, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis is related to peripherally inserted central venous catheters (PICC), the role of nursing staff in inserting and care of these systems. The aim of the work, which is partly based on PICC project organized by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, 1st Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague, was to investigate the quality of life in patients with PICC after their insertion, to evaluate the incidence of complications (venous thrombosis, bacteraemia, sepsis, local infections, decubitus, disconnection of the system, mechanical complications, etc.) and compare the economic efficiency of PICC systems with other available methods. The aim of the second part of the thesis, which is unrelated to the previously mentioned project, was to reveal the awareness of nurses/paramedics on PICC catheter. This thesis has two traditional parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals initially with the central venous catheter in general and then it describes main features of the PICC systems. The following part reviews indications, insertion techniques and potential complications associated with the PICC systems. The role of nursing staff in the insertion and maintenance of these systems is also highlighted. The...

Šremer, Peter ; Jirkovský, Daniel (advisor) ; Dorková, Zlatica (referee)
The theoretical part of this study is devoted firstly to the definition and conception of injury, which is further classified in accordance with intention, mechanism, place of origin type of accident and the location of the injury on the body. The section on injury prevention describes how to prevent injuries at the primary level (prevent the origin of injury), at the secondary level (reducing consequences) and at a tertiary level ( to minimize the aftereffects of injury). It also shows that the fall in the number of childhood injuries is insufficient in comparison with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and some Scandinavian countries where Sweden and Finland achieves the best results in injury prevention. The study also describes what is done for prevention of injuries (preventive inspection, dispensary inspection and treatement of injuries). Problems are described from the first preventive examination of a new- born child, followed by preventive examinations throughout the suckling age, the toddler age, the preschool age, the younger school age, the senior/sophomore school age until adolescence /teenagers. The study shows the most frequent types of injuries and preventive action for falls, drowning, burns, poisoning, swallowing foreign objects, suffocation, strangulation, toy and playground injuries and...

DOUBKOVÁ, Pavlína
Abstract The aim of the thesis: To determine most common causes of pertussis in childhood is the aim of this submitted research thesis. It also describes the possibilities of child prevention from the point of view of nurses. The other aims are description the specifics of nursing care for children with pertussis. Five research questions have been defined in relations to these objectives. The way of achieving the aim: The qualitative research method was chosen to achieve the objectives of the thesis. This method was implemented through in-depth interviews. On the basis of identified research questions, individual categories have been formulated in order to get answers to individual questions. For selection of communication partners the method of intentional selection was chosen. Research was realized at Jihlava Hospital in Children's Department. Anonymous interviewing was attended by a total of 20 communication partners. All of them have a nursing education and have performed nursing care for a child with a pertussis disease. In-depth interviews with parents were carried out in General Practitioner for children and adoration. Anonymous survey were agreed by 7 parents whose children suffered from pertussis. Scientific benefits of the thesis: This research study deals with the current issue of pertussis as an omitted infection. The scientific results of the research are intended for both the lay and professional public. The research study presents a complex and comprehensive overview of nursing care for children with pertussis. It will find use in both preventive care and also in taking care of the patient directly on the bed. Part of the scientific thesis is application into practice. The lessons learned and conclusions: Diseases of pertussis are most at risk for newborns and infants, for whom their parents pose a significant threat of infection without the parents becoming aware of it. One of the main measures is to vaccinate not only children but also parents and close relatives who come to close contact with the newborn. Parents are often unaware of adult vaccination in the prevention of childhood illness. Nursing care for a child with pertussis disease has its specificities in that it is highly contagious illness and can endanger the life of the child.
