Vplyv monetárnej politiky na stavebný priemysel

The master thesis deals with impact of monetary policy on the construction industry in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. For each country, there are 1 999 observations from year 2009 to 2016. The effects are examined using panel regression data. The findings from the research are compared with results of empirical studies. The influence of monetary policy was managed to be demonstrated with a help of the PRIBOR and EURIBOR interest rates, as well as financial indicators such as size, guarantee, liquidity, profitability, or indebtedness.

The bachelor thesis is focused on the development of the food industry in Slo-vakia in the years 2009 to 2017. The development of the food industry based on the PESTE analysis is influenced by the following factors: political and legal factors (change in legislation, international market, food safety and quality, state support), economic factors (financial crisis in 2007, ECB interest rate developments), social factors (consumer preferences, technical factors (innovation expenditure) and environmental factors (environmental protection and climate change). As part of the methodical work and empirical analysis, we focus on the selection of appropriate financial indicators. In the data set of 329 companies from the food industry in the years 2009 - 2017, we monitor selected financial indicators: return on assets, the share of fixed assets in total assets and the total indebtedness of companies in the food industry. The return on ROA assets is not affected by the financial crisis in 2008/2009, as the food industry is not one of the sectors which are subject to cyclical fluctuations in the economy. Other factors that affect ROA include political and legal factors, the cause of which is insufficient state funding for the food sector. The ecological factor is manifested mainly in unfavorable climatic conditions and prolonged frosts during 2010. We also observe demonstration of the social factor and consumer preferences under the pressure of foreign products. The asset indicator is influenced by the political and legal factor in the form of increased state funding in 2009 and the socio-technological factor, as in 2009 there is a mass replacement of labor for capital. We observe a decline in the assets indicator again in 2016, due to insufficient financing of the sector from the state and the occupancy of less than 40% of Slovak products on the market. The debt ratio is influenced by economic factors, namely the impact of cheap interest rates in 2016, when food industry companies had the opportunity of "cheap money". We also observe the influence of the political and legal factor in the form of changes to the Waste Act, which has caused a higher financial burden on companies in the food industry. In 2016, the overall indebtedness is also affected by the ecological factor in the form of high frosts, which cause an increase in the cost of weather damage elimination.

Vplyv CSR aktivít na výkonnosť firiem

The diploma thesis deals with the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on firm’s financial performance. The impact of CSR activities is estimated using the RepRisk index, which measures firm’s exposure to reputational risks. The main contribution of the thesis is an estimate of the relationship between CSR and financial performance with respect to macroeconomic environment expressed by economic growth and the quality of the institutional environment. A static and a dynamic regression analysis of the panel data is used with fixed effects due to the heterogeneity of the European Union countries. The data sample used in empirical analysis consists of 969 firms from the European Union and the United Kingdom with annual frequency from 2009 to 2017. The results of static models indicate positive impact of CSR activities on return on assets. Considering the endogeneity of the variables and the GMM estimator, the statistically significant impact of CSR activities on the financial performance was not confirmed when including economic growth and variables covering the quality of the institutional environment in the model.

Analysis of Economic Data Using Statistical Methods

The teoretical part of the thesis focuses on timeline and also on economic issues of mainly ratio indicators and their interpratation. The aim of this work is to analyze and evaluate selected economic indicators of the company, using timeline analysis and regressive analysis. The analysis is related to value prediction of selected economic indicators which I predicted for the next two years (2014 and 2015). Based on the detected values I proposed measures for successful future development of the company. I have processed the data using Gretl and Microsoft Excel programs.

The Analysis of Company Financial Position

The subject of my bachelor work is to make estimation of the financial health of the concrete sign based on the financial-analytical methods. Work consists of free basic parts. The first one deals with the theoretical pieces of knowledge, which are practically used for the financial analysing of the concrete sign in the second part. The third part summarises the overall financial situation of the sign and presents the proposals to it’s improvement.

Improvement of financial planning in trading company

The financial situation and financial economy could be controlled by a whole range of indicators in the time progress and context so that the evaluation of the situation may reflect the whole economic state of the company and enable to point out causes of the actual situation. If the company shall be economically succesful, the financial planning and analysis has to be a part of the complex of the company´s financial management, because it provides a feedback between the expected effect of managing decisions and present. This diploma work is focused on detection of weak and strong characteristics of the company. All datas used in analysis are taken from the public sources and internal company documentation. The point of my diploma thesis was to present a financial analysis containing my theoretical experience, which I gained during my study at the VUT.Brno.
