Komparatívna analýza podmienok podnikateľského prostredia pre malé a stredné podniky v rámci krajín V4
Bača, Slavomír ; Svobodová, Ivana (advisor) ; Hančár, Matúš (referee)
The main aim of the master's thesis is to clarify the problematic of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), analyse relevancy and historical development of selected ratios influencing business environment conditions for SMEs, and determine the best country within V4 region in terms of favourableness of selected business environment conditions for 2014. Theoretical part of the thesis discusses the problematic of SMEs from different points of view emphasizing on the approach of European Union. Based on literature relevant indicators are selected and presented for each V4 country individually. Analytical part of the thesis analyses external environment conditions for SMEs within V4 region in 2014 through five groups of indicators: Taxation, Labour Cost, Demand, Corruption and Law Enforcement, and Easy of Doing Business. The whole analysis is conducted based on secondary data and method of indexes. All of the five groups of indicators are analysed separately and based on these results the final ranking is created. The results of the study show relatively similar business conditions for SMEs within V4 area with Poland having the best SMEs business environment in 2014.
Analysis of the ranking of economic faculties using the multi-criteria decision making methods
Balšánková, Tereza ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Borovička, Adam (referee)
The thesis deals with the evaluation of the economic faculties of the universities in the Czech Republic using the WSA, TOPSIS and ELECTRE III methods. The theoretical part of the work describes the theory of multi-criteria decision making and focuses on the methods with the cardinal information and methods of calculation of the criteria weights. This part of the work is further devoted to the methodology of the world's most recognized rankings and evaluations of economic faculties in the Czech Republic. The practical part deals with the selection of appropriate criteria, the determination of their scales and evaluation of faculties using the Sanna MS Excel add-in application. In the scope of the sensitivity of the evaluation depending on the change in the weights of the criteria there is drawn up a questionnaire for students of schools with economic focus. The primary purpose is to create an objective ranking of economic faculties. The secondary aim of this work is to assess the sensitivity of the order of the faculties on the method used to calculate the weights of the criteria and on change of the weighting of the criteria itself.
Ranking
Černý, Jiří ; Neumaierová, Inka (advisor) ; Hájek, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the Master's Thesis is the ranking of the selected sector of the Czech economy, specifically group of vehicle manufacturers in terms of their financial performance. In particular the evaluation of the financial performance of selected objects of ranking, creating charts according to specific criteria and their interpretation. The Thesis also provides examples of significant Czech and world rankings, which are described and compared. The theoretical part is given in particular the selection criteria and ranking methodology focusing on value-based criteria (EVA, spread, NPV) and theoretical background of business in the sector. That is then developed in the practical part of the work in the analysis of the automotive industry. The following is a selection and segmentation of objects ranking and the main part of the work focused on ranking of companies based on their financial performance.
Intercompany comparison
LAGARDE, Matyáš
The aim of this thesis was to perform inter-company comparison by using different tools for a set of five construction companies. For comparison were selected five joint stock companies, which are in terms of market share, the largest. To the resulting comparison has been used inter-comparison methods, bankruptcy and credibility models and it was created credit rating companies AGR (Aspect Global Rating). Based on the chosen methodology, we compare the companies among themselves in terms of their economic situation.
Belief in the Internet and Critical Thinking
Krejčí, Aleš
The present-day young generation routinely use the Internet as readily available source of facts, entertainment and communication. Everyday life creates a belief in the acquired information, its freshness and quality. Comfortable working with keywords and search engines further strengthens this belief, although the information may be outdated and the sources questionable. The blind faith in the Internet infected some university students, even in higher classes, where we should expect and require a significant degree of analytical thinking and critical approach. The more it applies to marketing communication students who need to acquire much deeper insight at the forms and mechanisms of media and information environment. The author shows by the results his research that even among students of this branch the situation is far from ideal. Lecturers need to educate independently and critically thinking graduates, whether the development of information technologies will bring anything.

Methods for ranking efficient units in data envelopment analysis
Gőtz, Ondřej ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Chrobok, Viktor (referee)
This thesis focuses on the theory of models, data envelopment analysis and subsequent methods in ranking of obtained efficient units. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part describes the basic theoretical background of data envelopment analysis for different situations of inputs and outputs. It also contains basic information on specific models of CCR, BCC and SBM, including illustrative examples of their function. In the second part these models are adapted for use in the overall layout of production units which are the models of super efficiency and cross efficiency. Both methods include the description of the basic principles of their functioning. The aim is to compare the results of the various types of ranking using a practical example. This is included in the last part of the thesis. This chapter compares the results obtained using the models mentioned above. Data of the S & L branches were used as the input values for this work.
Ranking
Keřková, Gabriela ; Neumaierová, Inka (advisor) ; Vernerová, Andrea (referee)
The goal of diploma thesis is describing and evaluating of present, officially published rankings in the Czech Republic and creating own rankings in one branch of economy, specifically in health insurance industry. Evaluation is focused on quality and availability of information and used criteria, their significance and evaluators. I also focused on users of rankings and ways of measuring companies' efficiency, which is one of the most important criteria of rankings. Second part is focused on health insurance market. I describe subjects on this market, analyze share of different kinds of insurance on insurance globally and compare to Czech and European economy. I analyze evaluation of insurance companies by Czech national bank, which is authority for inspection of insurance market or rating agencies.
Ranking vybrané skupiny pojišťoven
Tesařík, Martin ; Neumaierová, Inka (advisor) ; Sosík, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the performance evaluation of a selected group of insurance companies. The text is divided into several parts and begins with the explanation of theoretical frameworks for both insurance and the ranking process. This knowledge is then applied to the object of analysis. Mainly the financial performance of insurers was assessed, by means of the so-called spread indicator. Hence, part of the analysis is also a cost of equity calculation with the help of the Capital Asset Pricing Model. The outcome of this work is the ranking of analyzed insurance companies by their financial performance in 2007-2009. The contribution of the work can be seen not only in forming the ranking, but in demonstration of a practical application of the chosen methodology as well as in description of its advantages and disadvantages.
Describing the dominance hierarchy in animals: rating of individuals.
STEHLÍKOVÁ, Jitka
In this thesis I review some of methods used in research on dominance hierarchy in animals. I will focus on analytical approaches designed to quantify dominance position of individuals within a social group. These techniques include, among others, sociometric matrices and a range of dominance indices. I will discus advantages and disadvantages of various analytical tools, strategies of choice for collecting relevant behavioural data, and terminology used in this context.
Fast Dependency-Aware Feature Selection in Very-High-Dimensional Pattern Recognition Problems
Somol, Petr ; Grim, Jiří
The paper addresses the problem of making dependency-aware feature selection feasible in pattern recognition problems of very high dimensionality. The idea of individually best ranking is generalized to evaluate the contextual quality of each feature in a series of randomly generated feature subsets. Each random subset is evaluated by a criterion function of arbitrary choice (permitting functions of high complexity). Eventually, the novel dependency-aware feature rank is computed, expressing the average benefit of including a feature into feature subsets. The method is efficient and generalizes well especially in very-high-dimensional problems, where traditional context-aware feature selection methods fail due to prohibitive computational complexity or to over-fitting. The method is shown well capable of over-performing the commonly applied individual ranking which ignores important contextual information contained in data.
