Semantic support in CMS Drupal
Ivančo, Daniel ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Hazucha, Andrej (referee)
Aim of this diploma thesis is to map semantic features of CMS Drupal version 7. The goal of the first part of this work is to theoretically describe semantic web problematic and CMS Drupal. The second -- practical part of this work maps in details all the features of semantic web, which are supported by described CMS Drupal. These semantic features are mapped in two different points of views -- implementation and functional. Main contribution of this work is the method used to map these features. It's based on Drupal plugins code modification and revision in order to draw or demonstrate these features, which are not necessarily completely documented or functional. Furthermore all of these features are demonstrated on examples created as a part of this thesis. Finally the last part of this work compares these mapped features to similar CMS systems.
A linked-data vocabulary of grey literature document types: Version 1.0
Pejšová, Petra ; Mynarz, Jindřich ; Simandlová, Tereza
The first version of the vocabulary of the types of grey literature in RDF (Resource Description Framework) is based on an analysis of grey literature typologies and a draft version of vocabulary presented on GL12. The draft version of the vocabulary of the types of grey literature was reviewed by 14-member international working group appointed to this purpose. From January until July 6, 2011 42 comments and suggestions were accepted. Subsequently, they were incorporated by the NTK (National Technical Library) team. Changes mainly redefined some collections, some document types were merged and others excluded. The major changes concerned the following collections: monographs, informative materials, datasets and research plans. By our poster we would like to introduce the first version and discuss the possibility of using it by grey literature community. The vocabulary of the types of grey literature is publicly available on http://code.google.com/p/grey-literature-typology/ . The record includes also a poster, which was a part of presentation.

Publishing of bibliographic information according to the Linked Data principles
Hladká, Jitka ; Sklenák, Vilém (advisor) ; Svátek, Vojtěch (referee)
Bibliographic data provide well established means of the information resource description. Nowadays, there is obvious need to make this data more web-friendly and web-compatible, while web is mostly seen as the only place where people are seeking information. The proposed solution is to change the traditional bibliographic data representation format. Semantic Web initiative presents enhancement of the current web with machine processable data semantics (meaning). The main goal is to manage more effective information processing by web applications that brings up many benefits for web users. Linked data are seen as practical means to reach the semantic web vision. This initiative promotes best practices of publishing, connecting and sharing structural data on the web. This thesis reports the transformation of bibliographic records' format in case of Database of publishing activities at University of Economics, Prague (PCVSE). Benefits of linked data publishing model are demonstrated on the realized projects. The main part describes practical experiences gained during the implementation of RDF framework in phases of data modelling, interlinking and exposing the dataset. The linked data publishing model is seen there as an optimal web-compatible bibliographic data representation format.
SPARQL plugin for Ontopia Knowledge Suite
Ovčáčík, Vlastimil ; Kliegr, Tomáš (advisor) ; Svátek, Vojtěch (referee)
Reader of this bachelor thesis will familiarize with two technologies of semantic web -- Topic Maps and RDF. In the first half of this document we can find principles, history and thoughts on near future of both technologies. There are explained necessary principles of both standards. Emphasis is placed on query languages SPARQL and TMQL. Object of this thesis is understanding differences and mutual aspects of both Topic Maps and RDF. This understanding is key for finding interoperability between these two technologies on semantic web. The second half of this thesis is aimed on implementation of sparql4ontopia - a plugin for Ontopia Knowledge Suite, which enables quering topic maps with SPARQL. This plugin utilizes Sesame project for SPARQL query evaluation and Nikunau tool from SesameTM project for mapping SPARQL on Topic Maps Data Model. Possibilities and limitations of this plugin are described. There is also description of sparql4ontopia development and implementation. Last chapter shed light on SPARQL endpoint and possible way of implementation into Ontopia Knowledge Suite.
Support of Semantics in CMS Drupal
Kubaliak, Lukáš ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Hazucha, Andrej (referee)
The work concern about the support of semantics in known content managing systems. It is describing the possibilities of use for these technologies and their public accessibility. We find out, that today's technologies and methods are in the state of public inducting. In the question of semantic support in CMS Drupal we developed a tool for extending its support of semantic formats. This tool allows CMS Drupal to export its information in a Topic Maps format. For this it uses the XTM file.
Ontology-Driven Self-Organization of Politically Engaged Social Groups
Belák, Václav ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Nováček, Vít (referee)
This thesis deals with the use of knowledge technologies in support of self-organization of people with joint political goals. It first provides a theoretical background for a development of a social-semantic system intended to support self-organization and then it applies this background in the development of a core ontology and algorithms for support of self-organization of people. It also presents a design and implementation of a proof-of-concept social-semantic web application that has been built to test our research. The application stores all data in an RDF store and represents them using the core ontology. Descriptions of content are disambiguated using the WordNet thesaurus. Emerging politically engaged groups can establish themselves into local political initiatives, NGOs, or even new political parties. Therefore, the system may help people easily participate on solutions of issues which are influencing them.
Community portal
Rosík, Jiří ; Nekvasil, Marek (advisor) ; Schenk, Jan (referee)
The aim of this work is to map the sphere of community portals, to determine what are the characteristics of users and how they behave. Subsequently, this knowledge confront with the current state. In the sphere of semantic web technologies are still solved the problem of their introduction into practice. The work aims to describe these technologies and find out how it can be in the field of social networks applied and where can they find the application. For those, who want to start their own small community portal is designed solution in the form of simple application, based on free available technologies. Here is the aim to provide warp and inspiration to set up a similar project. Taken into account is the economics, which is intended to outline the sphere of financing community portal in its infancy. At the end we specify problems and difficulties faced by entrepreneurs of existing sites. The main contribution consists of an analysis of studies on users of community portals and deduction the knowledge about behavior and characteristics of these participants. You can apply this information for marketing or any other work in the field of social networks. The contribution of the practical part of the work lies in exploring the applicability of semantic technologies in social networks and the subsequent implementation of any proposal. For those interested in establishing the portal is a useful proposal for their own applications, including economic aspects.
Conversion between Topic Maps and RDF/OWL
Podává částečný úvod do webových služeb a propojení principů sémantického webu a webových služeb. To znamená sématické webové služby.
