RWCT program at primary school

This thesis focuses on the issue of using the RWCT programme as well as components of Drama in Education in Czech language and literature classes in primary schools, especially when working with artistic texts. The theoretical part depicts the new concept of education, key competencies, goals in primary education and the importance of reading literacy. It presents information about the programmes of Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT) and Drama in Education along with their goals, contents and methods and working with artistic texts. It also defines their identical and different components. The practical part examines how to work with one text in different ways and observes how individual goals in school classes change when using different methods of RWCT and Drama in Education. It provides specific suggestions for school classes when working with texts, their processing and evaluating with regard to the methods and education goals used. Tourist Attraction in Teaching of Geography at Primary School: Case Study Kolín

Sixtová, M. (2011): Tourist attractions in teaching of geography at primary school: case study Kolín. Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, Charles University in Prague. The presented bachelor thesis is concerned with teaching local region issues. The theoretical approach is provided by examination of literature related to tourism and by analysis of curricular documents of state and school level. In the next part of the thesis, there are presented selected tourist attractions whose inclusion into teaching geography was monitored at primary schools in Kolín. At these schools, there was realized questionnaire survey among pupils as well as among teachers of geography. These teachers also participated in controlled interview which deals with a concept of teaching local region issues. On the basis of gained knowledge, there was devised school geography project, which is focused on application of tourist attractions into teaching local region issues.

Education to support welfare of primary school children through free time activities

This graduation thesis covers the concept of free time and transformation of its understanding in history. It evaluates possibilities of school, and society in general, in support of welfare of primary school children with the use of free time activities. The practical part of the thesis maps opportunities available in this respect in the Prague 6 - Dejvice district. It contains research of opinions of parents and children on free time activities. In the thesis' conclusion a project is being proposed with a goal of introduction of various options of free time activities to children.

Developing the Skills of Elementary School Pupils in Preventing Injuries and the Ability to Provide First Aid

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of safety and protection of children's health. It namely disserts on the occurrence of accidents among children, their prevention and provision of first aid in case of an accident or sudden damage to one's health . The aim of this thesis is to map the current state of accident occurrence among children and the scope of assertion of permanent active prevention with selected primary school pupils. The theoretical part contains epidemiological data concerning accident occurrence among children, types of accidents from the point of view of physical and psychological development of a child and the environment in which these accidents occur and selected preventive measures. Most attention is paid to school accident occurrence, safety and protection of pupils and incorporation of this issue in the Framework educational programme for basic education. It also provides a summary of legal aspects and recommended practices of first aid provision, including the current trends and introduction of educational programmes and courses intended for lay public. The practical part maps the awareness of safe behaviour as the primary form of accident prevention among ninth grade primary school pupils as well as their knowledge, skills and attitudes to first aid provision. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the local region and its position in educational programs. The practical part deals with the knowledge acquired on the basis of empirical research. It summarizes the findings on ways of teaching in primary schools and high school and results that students achieved in the Knowledge-questionnaire. On the basis of this investigation suggest your own design concept of teaching Blatensko, based on the current Framework Educational Programme for Primary Education.

Teaching of bank holidays and next significant days in Education to Citizenship classes

This diploma thesis is focused on important cultural and social connections of bank holiday and next significant days incorporation into Education to Citizenship on the second grade of primary schools. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical part. The theoretical one is dealing with the definition and characterization of bank holidays and next significant days in the Czech Republic. In the next part there is described curricular reform of schooling and its documents. In the practical part there is analysed Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education into which are reflected problems of teaching of bank holidays and significant days in primary schools. Afterwards is researching focused on analysis of School Education Programme of Primary School and Kindergarten School for everyone in Osová Bítýška. The author is looking at bank holidays and next significant days incorporation into Education to Citizenship curriculum. In this part there are analysed Education to Citizenship textbooks with valid clause of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as well. Subsequently there were created model education units which were used in chosen primary school. The conclusion of diploma thesis is dealing with evaluation of realized classes and appraisal of contribution of created activities to pupils.

The current situation of education in school gardens (natural classrooms) on the 1st and 2nd elemetary schools in the region of the town Tábor

This bachelor´s thesis discusses the issue of the utilization of school gardens. Among selected schools, the author conducted a thorough survey aimed on the school education program (SEP) consider the integrating of realized and feasible activities for school gardens and the research of actual conditions in the usage of school gardens in elementary schools using a questionnaire survey. She focused principally on the research of school equipment for an education in the areas of school gardens, the range of lessons, the topics of teaching the schools use school gardens for. Then she concentrated on the teaching methods in the areas of school gardens and she surveyed on a suitability of school gardens for the application of the elements of the Inquiry based education (IBE).

Benešovsko Region in the Second Grade of Primary School Education

The diploma thesis deals with the position of teaching the local region in the educational programmes. On the basis of empirical research, it summarises the findings of teaching the local region in primary schools and the lower grade of grammar school in the Benešovsko region. Based on the results of worksheet research, it compares the pupils? knowledge about Benešovsko region and then it tries to find the connection between the level of the pupils? knowledge and the ways of teaching this topic. The second part of the thesis is focused on the actual suggestion of teaching the local region concept. It contains a complete teaching material in the form of working textbook, suggestion of school geographical project, school excursion and methodological manual including time devotion and curriculum content, chosen teaching forms and methods and integral approach to education. The conception is based on the actual Framework Education Programme for Primary Education.

Electronic kit in the subject Practical activities

In this thesis I focused on the evaluation of the historical development of electronic kits in the Czech school system, and the survey of the current state of use of electronic kits in the subject Praktické činnosti (Practical Activities) on the second level of primary schools. The thesis also presents a comparison of different types of electronic kits using complex eva-luation criteria. Another part deals with design and implementation of a custom electronic kit intended for teaching the subject Praktické činnosti (Practical Activities), including the implementation of appropriate didactic instruction.

This diploma thesis describes Framework Education Programme for Basic Education, its aims, key competencies and cross-curricular subjects. It also mentions educational area Man and World of Work and its particular components. This diploma thesis also summarizes some teachers{\crq} opinions on Framework Education Programme for Basic Education, creation of School Education Programme and their putting into practice. Second part of this thesis describes a project which allows pupils to learn history of engineering within the frame of the region and wider outskirts. The thesis contains a proposal how to work and process how the pupils worked and what results they have achieved.
