It describes a theoretical framework in the areas of family business, strategic management and change management. Using critical analysis in accordance with the theoretical findings, a proposal of strategic development within a chosen family business is created together with a high-level implementation plan.

Impact of value addition to tomatoes on poverty in Ghana

The aim of the thesis is to determine the impact of value addition to tomatoes on poverty in Ghana. The research is based on the Scholarly Internship Development (SID) project that was taken in Ghana 2014 in association with Mendel University in Brno. There were used qualitative and quantitative methods for the research. The main methods were comparative analysis, regression and correlation analysis to determine whether domestic production is cheaper than imported tomato paste and its impact on poverty in Ghana. The result of this work shows a positive impact based on the research provided in this work.

MS Project and Alternatives

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the usage of project management software in the small organisation. The aim of the thesis is to create the methodology suitable for the selection of the optimal SW used in small organisations. The minor aim of the thesis is to give a recommendation regarding the right SW used for their project management activities to an existing company for the planning and execution of the project. The thesis consists in its theoretical part of an overview of existing literature from the project management area. In a first half of the practical part of the thesis I describe the existing SW and evaluate them based on the multi-criteria decision making model. The weights of criteria in the model are based on the research of the author among the small organisations. After that I calculate the optimal solution and compares it with its main competition. By this comparison I recommend as a new optimal solution the competitors service. In the second half of the practical part of the thesis I recommend the solution to the boat race project. The next step is the analysis of SW support needs of the project. Afterwards I give a recommendation to the company regarding the suitable SW tool for its activities connected with the specific project. In conclusion I describes the output of this thesis and my opinion about the use of this output in the real projects.

Project management in competence centre SQA

This thesis deals with project management competence center in Software Quality Assurance, which operates the University of Economics in Prague. The first part of this thesis is focused on basic terminology management projects and projects aimed at testing. The second part focuses on project management competence center in Software Quality Assurance, which describes a modified project life cycle according to the PMBOK and project life cycle testing. All phases of the lifecycle contain sub-activities and the person responsible for the activity. The last part of this thesis is focused on management competency center Software Quality Assurance tool available for cooperation IBM Connections, which is available for students and staff of the University of Economics in Prague. The thesis is a complex material intended primarily for manager competency center, its teams and includes guides on how to manage the very center and its projects.

The possibilities of increasing the competitiveness of Czech enterprises through financing from EU funds

This thesis deals with the issue of competitiveness of Czech enterprises, con-cretely municipalities, which are specific type of public enterprise. In the thesis there are identified factors of regional competitiveness of municipalities suggested by leaders of municipalities and cities and regression analyses of their influence on regional competitiveness is provided. Thesis contains also proposal of measures of increasing regional competitiveness of municipalities by drawing money from EU Structural funds in accordance with the current strategy of the European Union, the Europe 2020 Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Moreover, project plan for municipality, with corresponds with its potential realization of the objectives of the Regional Development Strategy of the Czech Republic 2014-2020, together with the simple instructions for the applicants for subsidy from EU's Structural funds, is prepared.
