The demographic development of the European Union
Dotlačilová, Petra ; Langhamrová, Jitka (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
The aim of this Master's thesis is to describe the past and future demographic development of selected EU countries. The second aim is to utilize methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives in the demography. The last aim is to describe methods used to extrapolate mortality curves. The theoretical part describes demographic indicators, methods used to extrapolate mortality curves and computational processes for methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives. The practical part includes the computation of demographic indicators and describes the progress of the indicators in the future. The methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives are used for ranking selected EU countries according to the demographic indicators. The last part of the thesis includes the application of methods used for extrapolating mortality curves and compares the achieved results with the actual progress.
The influence of migration on population projections
Navrátilová, Pavla ; Čermáková, Klára (advisor) ; Rod, Aleš (referee)
This work deals with the question of migration in connection with demographic changes. We can hear, that the migration can be one of the possible solutions to these changes. The aim of this work was to determine whether migration can replace gaps in fertility and contribute to maintaining the existing social system. I tried to find answer through the index of economic burden and the age index. Czech Statistical Office (CSO) calculates projections in three ways and each of them involves a different level of migration. I consider migration as a very difficult estimated value, therefore I calculated own projection without it. It turned out, that the outcome was impressed with the constant parameters, which I chose for my projection. Czech Statistical Office then gave me the projection without migration parameters and with variable values for each region. After converting to the whole country, the indexes indicated a slight deterioration in comparison with projection from CSO including migration. The migration in itself does not lead to deterioration of indexes. Conversely, if migration will be excluded from the calculation, indexes will be slightly worse. This only slight deterioration predicates, that the migration is not real solution to the demographic problems.
The use of new statistical processes by evaluation of land adjustment realization in Southern Bohemia.
PRŮŠOVÁ, Milena
The thesis deals with evaluation of the projection of complex agrarian arrangement in a selected test set represented by the region of South Bohemia The theoretical part focuses on goals and financial measures of the land consolidation in coherence with the financial support programs. Furthermore, it mentiones some of the primary issues, for example the plan of joint facilities and field routes. The practical part determines the appropriate methods and sets leading to obtaining results both in written and in graphic form. Based on data from the districts of South Bohemia we will a) assess and compare the current state of projection with the percentage of both started and completed complex land arrangements in individual districts, b) asses the main reasons for the implementing these arrangements, c) asses the fragmentation of land in relation to land consolidation and d) asses the costs of land consolidation in individual districts. The goal of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive analysis of projected land arrangements and possible suggestions to improve the current state.
X-ray imaging methods in veterinary medicine
KRONUSOVÁ, Kateřina
In modern times, the X-ray examination already has a permanent position in veterinary medicine when diagnosing various diseases. It is possible to use it to obtain detailed information about the shape, size, boundary, placement and even the internal structure of different organs. In order to get the largest amount of diagnostic information possible it is necessary that the X-ray examination be properly directed and executed with technological perfection. The results, i.e. the X-ray images, must be systematically, thoroughly and objectively analyzed and correctly incorporated into the overall clinical diagnosis. That{\crq}s why each X-ray worker must have a good knowledge of both medicinal and physical chemistry. The introduction of this thesis is dedicated to the general principles of a veterinary X-ray imaging such as exposure parameters or the geometry of a picture. Of course, the necessary protection against ionising radiation is also mentioned in this section. The central part of my work is composed of a summary and description of projections used in veterinary examining labs and clinics. I have focused primarily on dog and cat projections as they are the animals most frequently examined in veterinary clinics. Besides native projections, a certain part of my work is dedicated to examinations using contrast mediums. Another part is dedicated to the X-ray examination of exotic and small animals such as reptiles and birds. Throughout the paper, I have tried to use pictures as much as possible because I consider their example to be necessary in order to correctly understand the making of the projections. Since my goal was also to find out and analyse the utilisation rate of X-ray imaging methods in veterinary offices and clinics within the territory of the capital city of Prague, in the other part of my work there is elaborated information which was obtained with the help of questionnaires from veterinary work places and also information which was given to me by the State Office for Nuclear Safety.
The population age structure of South Bohemia and the concept of social care for older people
BARTKOVÁ, Veronika
The present work deals with the population age structure of South Bohemia in the years 1991 to 2007, with main focus on people over 65 years. In the introduction deals with the objectives and assumptions of work, literature searching and processing methodology. Other chapters deal with the analysis of population age structure and analysis of current capacity in social care for older people, specifically in homes for the elderly. It will identify areas with higher rates of the elderly population. The central part of the work is its own projection of population development of the South Bohemian Region and its districts until 2057, focusing on older people. The last chapter is devoted to forecast capacity needs of care facilities for older people in the medium term. Work is completed on the cartographic output, tables and graphs.
The conventional imaging techniques in radiology with a view to the musculosceletar system (the educational program)
NEUMANN, Petr
This paper provides information on the role of an X-ray technician in conventional imaging techniques in musculoskeletal system affections. An X-ray technician is expected to provide imaging of the demanded part of human body at least on the level of diagnostic acceptability while all principles of radiation protection, ethic rules, and the rights of a patient are respected. The first part of the paper describes the formation and creation of an X-ray image, it provides a short history and describes the X-ray equipment needed to provide a quality imaging of musculoskeletal system. In the next part the description of imaging techniques is given in dependance on the demand of the indicating physician and also of the folowing medical treatment when, in many cases, the assistence of an X-ray technician is necessary. Better training and information of the the X-ray technician result in higher quality care for patients, in better communication between the personnel and the patients and it may also result in decrease of radiation charge of patients while a high quality of imaging is preserved. In the conlusion of the paper mistakes in imaging are shown that arose from poor communication between the physician and the X-ray technician, ignorance of the therapeutic procedure by the X-ray technician respectively. The false X-ray images are taken from a file of patients who were treated in the radiodiagnostic department of Oblastní nemocnice Kolín, a.s. in the period from 1st January 2007 to 30th June 2007. They were diagnosed with hip joint affection or affection of proximal part of femur.
Use and application of historical maps for land consolidation projekt.
KOUBOVÁ, Veronika
This diploma thesis deals with usage and processing historical maps. The main attention was given to the maps of Stable Cadaster and Land Cadaster, which are mostly used for this purpose. The part of the cadastral unit Dříteň {--} Velice was chosen as given locality, where was realized the land adjustment.
Notes on projection based modelling of beta-distributed weights of a two-component mixture
Dedecius, Kamil
This report contains brief notes on estimation of beta-distributed weight of a Gaussian mixture. The results are directly applied in paper Kárný, M.: On approximate Bayesian recursive estimation]. First, we develop a method to update the beta distribution of weights by new data (evidences) and show, that a projection is needed to preserve the low modelling complexity. Then, we show how forgetting may be applied to improve adaptivity. The results can be immediately applied to multicomponent mixtures.
Algoritmy pro semikoercivní úlohu s nosníkem na jednostranně pružném podloží
Sysala, Stanislav
In this article, so-called "projected" and "non-projected" algorithms for semi-coercive beam problem with a unilateral elastic subsoil of Winkler's type are presented. These algorithms are based on the minimisation of the energy functional for the considered problem. In each the iteration step of the algorithms, the linear problem with bilateral elastic springs is solved. The convergence properties of the algorithms are summarised and demonstrated on numerical examples.
