Stories of our neighbours: Post Bellum project (radio report)

This bachelor's thesis deals with the project Stories of Our Neighbours, which is prepared by the non-profit organization Post Bellum. The output of the practical part is a 20-minute radio reportage featuring seven interviewees. It takes listeners to a primary school in Ostrava-Poruba to meet the pupils who participated in the project with their class teacher, and to the Post Bellum office to meet the main coordinator of the project. The reportage focuses, among other things, on how the teaching of modern history can be enlivened and how the recent past can be brought closer to pupils and students. Therefore, the reportage will also take the audience to Modřany in Prague to listen to an enthusiastic history teacher who tries to convey information about modern history to his pupils in an entertaining way. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis describes radio reportage as a genre, characterizes its origins and development, and places it in the context of Czech Radio broadcasting. It mentions the crucial periods in the history of Czechoslovak radio reportage. It also includes an introduction to the project and an outline of the future work of the Post Bellum organization. Inovativní přístupy k výuce moderních dějin na ZŠ s využitím orální historie

This bachelor thesis deals with innovative approaches and methods of modern history teaching at the upper primary school. In the theoretical part the author explains the problematics of teaching modern history and analyses its condition at schools in The Czech Republic. Thereafter she aims on exploring the options of using the oral history method (mainly in form of narrating the story by a witness or by interviewing him/her) or heuristic methods in teaching the history of the second half of the 20th century, as well as the options of the inclusion of audiovisual techniques (photography, video, documentary film). The practical part is based on a qualitative research focused on the work of a group of pupils involved in the project of the non-profit organization Post Bellum called "Příběhy našich sousedů"(Stories of our neighbours). The aim of the project is for the pupils to meet local elderly people and to get acquainted with their life story. The pupils also search for more historical materials relevant to the stories told by the witnesses and finally the witness' story is processed into an output (of various forms such as written reportage or video documentary). This pupil's team work is later on presented to the public. The author combines the technique of attended observation of pupils' work and interviews with them, focusing in particular on whether and how the participation in the project affects pupils themselves.

Contemporary Audiodocumentary with Regard to Příběhy 20.století Cycle

Current radio broadcasting increasingly aims to the stream broadcasting and radio listening is primarly distracted. This thesis examine if there are conditions for more complex genre, such as a radio documentary. What is position of radio documentary on the radio, what it actually is radio documentary and how it is made? This thesis tries to find answer to these questions. In the first part, the autor focuses on theoretical basis of radio production and on the broadcasting specifics. Based on available literature author attempts to describe genres that are on the border between journalism and art. Thesis also tries to describe the current state of documentary of Český rozhlas and characterizes some series. In the last part, the author focuses on the Stories of the 20th Century, which he tries to characterize, describe some of its bases and shows how it is made.
