Critical Responses of Selected Works By Petr Stančík in the Czech Media

This Master's thesis focuses on the analysis of the critical responses in Czech media to selected works of Petr Stančík. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the terms literary criticism, postmodernity and postmodernism. The literary criticism chapter features a subsection about the current situation of literary reviews in the Czech Republic with a focus on reviews of children's books. The theoretical part also includes a characterization of the cultural and literary print and online media. The media included in the analysis are cultural and literary print and online periodicals A2, Host, iLiteratura.cz, Tvar and Týdeník Rozhlas, and newspapers and web Aktuálně.cz, Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES, Právo, Reflex and Respekt. The thesis also includes a profile of the author himself and his literary and theatre works. The practical part of the Master's thesis maps the critical responses to three books by Petr Stančík - Mrkev ho vcucla pod zem (2013), Mlýn na mumie (2013) and Andělí vejce (2016), in the chosen Czech media. Selected Works of Petr Stančík in Leisure Education for Reading

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to introduce selected works of Petr Stančík and its use in leisure time education. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part presents the author's biography, his work, literary genre, awards and chosen methods for working with the text. The practical part deals with the creation of worksheets on the motifs of Petr Stančík's books, their verification in a leisure reading circle and the evaluation of the whole project.
Petr Stančík : Mummy Mill - complex narrative analysis

This bachelor thesis attends to complex narrative analysis of novel Mlýn na mumie written by Petr Stančík. This novel was published by Druhý domov in 2014. The analysis covers the story level and the narrative discourse level. At the story level aims to cover all key incidents, characters and space. At the narrative discourse level follows the category of time, the narrator and focalization. The analysis will be completed with the last chapter about the model reader. As a secondary sources for the analysis the Naratologie by the Kubíček, Bílek and Hrabal group, publications Narativní způsoby v české literatuře and Heterocosmica by Lubomír Doležel, publication Sémantika narativního prostoru by Soňa Šinclová and Tomáš Kubíček and publication Vypravěč by Tomáš Kubíček have been used.
