Shape optimization of hydraulic turbine diffuser
Hliník, Juraj ; Popela, Pavel (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with mathematical optimization focusing on the shape optimization in fluid mechanics with help of a CFD software. More specifically, it comprises the shape optimization of a swirl turbine draft tube with a specified rotational symmetry and the whole process is realised with Nelder-Mead and BFGS algorithms. The main object was to maximalize the pressure coeficient, with help of the algorithms which were implemented in Matlab software.
Modeling of Dynamics of the Part of a Printing Machine
Junek, Jiří ; Šolc, František (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with modeling dynamics of printing machine, made by SOMA Engineering, in toolbox SimScape of simulation program Simulink/Matlab. There are descibed properties, progress, important principles and laws of modeling in this toolbox. The first part is focused on creating models, which consist as mechanical as eletrical and control parts. In the second part is explained how to create user interface to control models and creating standalone application, executable without installation of Matlab or Simulink. In last part is explained principle of identification parameters of material from the measured data, using an optimalization algorithm Nelder-Mead. Created models and identification algorithm are controlled via user interface.
Fuzzy Controller Optimization in PLC
Piskoř, Dominik ; Jirgl, Miroslav (referee) ; Arm, Jakub (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the search for optimization methods suitable for fuzzy controller optimization. The next goal of this thesis is the manual design of the Mamdani fuzzy controller, off-line optimization of the designed fuzzy controller, and the testing of the optimized controller by controlling a real system. The real system is a model of the wind tunnel, which is consisted of a fan, a tube, and a small turbine placed on a shaft of a rotary encoder. This rotary encoder is used as a sensor. The last part of this thesis is a comparison of the achieved results with a linear controller, which is optimized according to the given criterion.
Vortex rope mitigation of Francis turbine draft tube by shape optimization
Oberta, Brian ; Štefan, David (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This master's thesis is aimed at the creation of shape optimization algorithm. The subject of optimization is a Francis turbine's draft tube in a sup-optimal operational regime. The objective of the shape optimization is the mitigation of vortex rope. The shape optimization is based on steady two-dimensional CFD simulations with usage of k- turbulency modelling. The results are validated by more advanced unsteady three-dimensional CFD simulations. As a part of shape optimization, this thesis ivestigates the possibilities of a simulation of vortex rope's manifestations with steady two-dimensional CFD models.
