Qualitative analysis of laic personality description on the basis of facial morphology
Souhrada, Jan ; Pivoňková, Věra (advisor) ; Poláčková Šolcová, Iva (referee)
This study examines spontanneous, laic personality ratings of face in comparison to following questionnaires: 16 PF, EPQ-R, NEO-PI-R. We've focused on how people spontaneously rate personality from face in relation to traits which are examined by said questionnaires. We tried to discover which traits are part of questionnaires but not included qualiative ratings and vice versa which traits can be found in laic descriptions but not in questionnaires. We used data from previous studies which provided us with two independent data, self-reports and ratings of facial photographs. Ratings were sorted out and compared to questionnaires. Most of the traits from qualiative data were also included in NEO-PI-R, specifically 90,4% of traits from self-reports and 82,90% of peer reports. 16 PF covered 88% and 77,81% of traits, EPQ-R 86% and 75,94% respectively. The least covered factor overall was Self-Reliance (16 PF) which included only 0,4% of all traits from self-reports. We have not found any factor which would be completely neglected in qualiatitve descriptions. Atractivity and physical traits were one of the main traits among those left unclassified. As with atractivity itself there was wide range of traits that we are unsure of how much personality relevant they actually are. Among unclassified traits...
Design assessment centra
Buráňová, Pavla
Aim of this thesis was to design a new methodology for testing applicants for internship to the student volunteer organisation AIESEC. Based on document analysis followed by interviews with contemporary and former members of AIESEC, competencies of an ideal member of the organisation have been identified. Consequently, a competency model has been created. Model situations and event schedule have been prepared and evaluators have been trained for the assessment centre. The design of the assessment centre has then been tested during 7 sessions on total 41 participants - 12 men and 29 women, in the age from 19 to 24. During realization of the assessment centre, its concurrent validity with the NEO-PI-R inventory have been measured. Moderate correlations have been found, however, it has not been recommended to replace the assessment centre with this method. The designed model of the assessment centre has been discussed considering future utilization by the organisation, and limitations and recommendations have been defined.

Validation study of the Golden Profiler of Personality: comparison with the personality inventory NEO-PI-R
Jarošová, Zuzana ; Niederlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee)
This thesis addresses the personality questionnaire Golden Profiler of Personality (GPOP). Its main objective is to verify a construct validity of GPOP. In the theoretical part, the required psychometric characteristics of psychodiagnostic tools are discussed. It also deals with the theoretical background of the GPOP - Jung's theory of psychological types and the Five Factor Model. The questionnaire GPOP is also compared with other psychodiagnostic tools with similar theoretical background and possibilities of its applications are discussed. The empirical part examines relationship between the scores of Golden Profiler of Personality and NEO inventory NEO-PI-R to determine the construct validity of GPOP. The research was conducted on the sample of university students. Results confirm the expected relationship and can be considered as the evidence of construct validity. The comparison with the norm sample showed that the sample of this research differs from the norm sample. Although the generalizability of results to the population is limited, this thesis offers the first validation study of Czech version of GPOP. Keywords: GPOP, psychodiagnostics, Jung typology, validity, NEO-PI-R
Personality of women and personality of men in the light of the NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R)
Hřebíčková, Martina
Gender differences in five personality traits have been documented across many cultures. Results showed that women reported themselves to be higher in Neuroticism, Agreeableness, Warmth, and Openness to Feelings, whereas men were higher in Assertiveness and Openness to Ideas. In the contribution data from self-reports 430 men and 526 women on the Czech version of the Revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R) are presented. Gender differences previously found across cultures were replicated. Possible explanations for this finding are discussed, including biological theories, social role model and evolutionary psychology.
Age differencies in five personality dimensions
Hřebíčková, Martina
This contribution is concerned with the age differences in five personality traits (Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to experience, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness). Similar patterns of age differences were seen in many cultures. Younger people score higher on Neuroticism, Extraversion and Openness, whereas the older people score higher on Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. In the contribution data from self-reports and informant ratings on the Czech version of the Revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R) are presented. Results were compared with relevant data from other countries. The possible interpretations of age differences are mentioned (e.g. from the perspective of the Five-Factor Theory or evolutionary approach to personality).
Judgment of Slovak national character by Czech university students
Hřebíčková, Martina
Five-factor model of personality is examined in relation to judgment of national character, in tis study. The Czech version of the National Character Survey corresponding to 30 facets of the NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R) was submited to 73 Czech university students. The students were to judge a typical Slovak and typical Czech using National Character Survey. The results showed significant differences between a typical Czech and typical Slovak in four personality characteristics. Czech university students judged Slovaks as more extravert, more open to new experiences, more agreeable, and less conscientious than Czechs.
